So happy I purchased this. I bought one previously (same model) but it was refurbished and wouldn't play Blu-Ray discs! So I returned it, I was concerned whether to buy a different brand due to that experience. But I opted to try it one more time. I am so glad I did!! It works AMAZING with my new 4K tv. I'm still getting used to the clarity being so clear lol. It's like you are in the room while they are filming! Definitely worth the purchase! When I upgrade the bedroom TV's I will definitely order this DVD player again.

I purchased this BD player as an open box item. It arrived and I hooked it into my system. The image quality is fantastic, it's easy to use, and it has lights on the front panel to let you know when it's on. The Blu-ray menu is OK, not completely intuitive but not bad. Same as all other Samsung BD menus that I've seen. Getting it up and running on my wifi network was a breeze. The problem with the thing is that after two weeks (and only four discs played) the thing started randomly *not* playing Blu-ray discs. It will play some, but not all. It will still play all normal DVDs, and upscale them, but not the BD. And you don't know which ones it will/won't play, either. Don't say it's the discs. I have two other Samsung BD players that play these discs just fine. It's infuriating. Buy something else.Read full review

The BD-J6300 gives great 4K-upscaled output of EVERYTHING that runs through it....DVD's, Blu-Ray discs, and streaming services. Most competitors only upscale the DVD's. It also has 4 selectable Video Output modes - of which the Vivid mode can make some colors 'pop' like on an HDR set, even on a non-HDR set. This player does NOT play the new and pricey '4K' discs (those require a much more expensive player). Its Upscaling of regular DVD's and Blu-Ray's is superb enough, though, you honestly don't need those pricier discs - so use that money to buy more movies. Most streaming-capable players and 'smart' TV's only have a handful of services installed, and can't handle any more. This one has ALL the major services, and a number of minor ones, pre-installed - and more can be downloaded. Over 300 services are available with this player - much like having a Roku player. And ALL benefit from the 4K upscaling. An Installation Note: Make sure you have an up to date HDMI Cable, v2.0 or higher (not included). HDMI Cable connections carry a 2-way Data exchange between the player and TV - and the standards have evolved as the devices have evolved. An older cable (HDMI v1.4 or earlier) might not handle a 4K data stream. This often exhibits itself as a player refusing to play a disc - and with an 'upscales everything' player like the BD-J6300, could block everything. In addition to the newer Cable, you might also have to go into the TV Submenu's and change the HDMI Port Settings on the TV itself - from their v1.3 or v1.4 factory default, to v2.0 or Auto - to get everything working. Once you get through that (if it even comes up), everything works BEAUTIFULLY. Enjoy!Read full review

I have a 65 inch 4K Samsung TV and this DVD/Blu-ray player works beautifully with it. SD DVDs look almost as clear and sharp as Blu-rays, and Blu-rays are up-converted to nearly 4K resolution for a breath-taking image. Streaming programming online looks great, too. One of the other selling factors for this DVD is it has an audio resolution of 7.1 channels as well, so I can take full advantage of the few Blu-ray discs with that capability (most are the standard 5.1 channel audio). Something else I appreciate is loading and unloading a disc onto the slide out carrier is such that I can grasp the disc on opposite edges instead of through the center hole and an edge like another Blu-ray player I own. MUCH easier on both outer edges of the disc! Initially setting it up was a breeze and I can now use the one remote to handle most (but not all) functions on the TV as well as everything on the DVD player. All in all, I am very pleased with this DVD/Blu-ray player. It measures up and makes everything look and sound absolutely wonderful.Read full review

The picture quality is very good. The sound is great. The unit is easy to use. The only reason why I did not give 5 stars is that when the device streams Netflix it sometimes cuts out the sound for a split-second.
