Despite no USB connectivity, it is, for day-to-day reminders and ideas, really a good tool. -- Have seen them 'buy now' on ebay in the $12 range, so it's almost a no-brainer. Sturdily made, plenty of space. Highest quality is preferable if you want messages to sound reasonably clear from such a tiny speaker, but it has the earplug, a nice bonus. Best of all, perhaps, it's one-button recording, so, when ideas pop up, no thought is required beyond unlocking it. Side button lets you keep it locked to prevent accidental recording in the pocket, which it did a half-dozen times until getting used to using the lock function. All in all, it fits the purpose, and it's good quality, considering it's Olympus. It's above average, especially appreciative of its occasional 'droppability,' if you catch my drift. :-) A recommended item for taking verbal notes from self, it works best when recording close to the device.Read full review
A great value for the price! Easy function buttons, clear screen, very easy to use. I use Olympus digital recorders as a tool for Paranormal Investigations. After years of using different recorders, there’s something about Olympus where I’ve gotten amazing EVP’s! They are my favorite. Only problem you’ll run into is if you’re a Mac/Apple household. The drivers are for PC only. Hope this helps anyone who plans to use them for EVP use!

came as pictures very quickly. cleaned out battery compartment, put in batteries, and it works beautifully. Cuts out every now and then, but just needs spring adjustment to tighten the battery. Come right back on with all recordings still there. Got the best class A EVP I've ever gotten the first time I used it, so yeah, I recommend it, though I wish it had a USB port. Great product for amazing price.

I've used voice recorders to record dreams for over thirty years, so I've gone through a lot of them. The Olympus was always my favorite, I lost the one I had a little while back and was thrilled to get one of these at a bargain price. It works perfectly, just like the one I had before.
