Apple iPod 1 gb Nano - why this iPod was made for me.
When I first purchased an iPod - we got the shuffle...we were just going to buy it to use while we excersized...got it home and it didn't work, we bought the nano. What a difference. If you are a visual person (as most of us are), the Nano is the one for you. Having a screen to scroll through all the music you download is a wonderful option. The management software (iTunes) that you install on your computer is easy enough to get through that even the most technically challenged person can understand it and create their own playlists, manage the settings in your ipod and update your podcasts if that is what you are using it for. While it has options that I will probably never use - Calendar, Address Book, notes, so on...its not a huge space killer for them to be there. My biggest ... When I first purchased an iPod - we got the shuffle...we were just going to buy it to use while we excersized...got it home and it didn't work, we bought the nano. What a difference. My biggest complaint about the ipod is the lack of affordable ear buds. The standard earbuds are very uncomfortable and will not stay in if you have small ears. I went through four sets of ear buds before I found a pair that would stay in my ears and not fall out when I turned my head. When I did finally find some that worked, I had to spend over $100 for a good pair. Quality of sound is just as important to me as is comfort. The menu wheel is extremely easy to navigate around, from searching for playlists, fast-forwarding to the next song, repeat,rewind all the way to volumne control - you can do it without even looking because the click wheel is that easy to use, and with 240 music files capability, you will get loads of practice. If you are the type of person that is tired of the weight of a portable CD player - this ipod is for you! The easy, light weight and sleek design of this piece is good for this geeky girls personality. There are a ton of accessories for the nano as well - just do a word search on eBay and you will find a whole list of accessories or look on the Apple website.

the perfect mp3 player?
I just bought a nano (1GB) last week. It rocks! I made sure that I had an invisible protective sleeve since the nano is more of the sensitive kind. Scratches very easily. The software is great! The only problem I have is with the shuffle option. I always like to listen to my playlist in shuffle mode. But the nano (and probably all ipods) always start with the first song in the playlist. Not really shuffling but I can deal with it. I'm not as sensitive as the nano, thank god! This player is the perfect size and the sound quality is unmatched. I would recommend however to get a pair of noise cancelling headphones for your nano. It makes the music sound so much better. Another thing that makes this player great is the battery life. This unit stores alot of music clips and the iTunes software is easy to use and does a good job of fading from one song to another. The options for playback are many as you can selct by artist, album, style or just random shuffle. The only drawback I have had has been the earpieces that come with it-very uncomfortable and heavy. Besides what you can read for yourself on apple.com, I'll tell you what I have found. These are just raambling snippets of info that may spark your interests. With a little research on these topics, you'll be on your way to enjoying the magnificent iPod. I have dropped my iPod twice. Once in a train station in Canada on a granite floor. No Damage. Not a scratch. Not a problem. Simply amazing. Sunscreen will damage the plastic of the iPod. You would think they tested the plastic for this since it is a must have item at the beach or pool. I have a permanent finger print on the face now. I bought the Apple dock, but hardly ever use it. If I had to do it again, I wouldn't buy it. MUST HAVE! Every Tuesday, Apple updates their store with a free tune. It's usually excellent, but it's usually someone you've never heard of before. You don't have to own an iPod to use iTunes. Download it and reap the same benefits. You can subscribe to the free Podcasts of your choice in iTunes. These Podcasts are very entertaining. There are meny topics and areas of interest in iTunes. There are additional casts on the web. Again, You don't have to own an iPod to use iTunes. Download it and reap the same benefits. Do your research before you buy a charger. The iPod video only come with a usb cable for charging via the powered usb on your pc. Apple's wall charger uses the usb cable and costs 30.00 USD. Look at other choices like Belkin. For the same money, you get more. Buy the Apple in-ear bud style headphones. Also buy Shure E2c foam sleeves. Take off the grey rubber Apple tips and put the Shure's on. The sound quality is the best you'll find for the price. You get a better seal in the ear canal. I have a $300 set of Denon audiophile can style headphone with 40mm drivers. The Apples sound as good. For noise isolation and improved bass, this trick is for you. I had to set my iPod EQ to reduce bass to balance the new level. It's great now. Unless DLo made improvements to the transpod for your auto avoid it. It has poor sound quality and low level output. I usually listen to my audio in the car on level 18. With the DLo I have to increase the volume to 35+ for the same output. At that level, background noise is amplified during quiet passages. It is an excellent charger, all downfalls aside. It's just the coolest thing I've ever owned! I hope you like the review!!

Great MP3Player
The iPod Nano is a great little device. I personally owned the 60Gig video player, but needed a little something for my wife for Christmas. She wanted something small, and that would store a lot of music. And this certainly does. Even though it's a 1Gig, it still holds enough music for hours of enjoyment. It is used when taking the dog for a walk, or when just hanging out at home. Apple did a great job with this and continues to do so with the new iPods!The iPod Nano is a great little device.
