    Quirky but worth a look

    Pros -weatherproof -small, lightweight -very high quality Cons -noisy -not as user-friendly as other Olympus models (though more user friendly than other brands) I am a professional photography trainer; I teach people how to understand and use their cameras better. I love Olympus for its very user-friendly interface. Having said that, this particular model is a bit less easy to use than others I have worked with. It also produces an easily audible buzz when turned on. It's not just this unit; this is a well-documented issue. Picture quality is there. This camera takes great pictures. (As do all cameras at this level.) It's especially nice that both the camera and lens are weatherproof so you can take them out in rain, snow, dust, blowing sand... whatever.     Marvelously versatile

    The OM-D E-M5 is a little dated -- Olympus stopped making it about two years ago, but it is a most competent piece of hardware. The menu system is complex which is why I note that it is not easy to use. However, it rewards the photographer who is willing to take the time to learn all it can do, or close to all. The 12-50 mm lens with a macro mode is sharp. Not razor sharp, but well within the bounds of virtually all users. You can print acceptably clear prints of 13x19 with the jpegs it gives you at the Superfine setting, even larger with the RAW image. The learning curve is steep and it behooves one to download the full manual/ The mini-manual isn't much help other than to identify the parts of the camera.     Beyond DSLR for active photographers

    Easy to use, although nested menus raise the learning curve. Smaller in the hands, but of substantial weight (1 lb. w/o lens). The heft feels like quality. A handsome camera harking back to early 35mm, especially the silver model. A great choice if you are an avid outdoor photographer. Weatherproof/sealed feature is a huge plus for humid conditions and weather.

    Great street camera

    Good Value based on features and price. I like the small size, I plan to use it as a street/travel camera and continue to use my Sony a700 DSLR for other jobs. The camera met my expectations based on the description. I do not believe it was used much by the previous owner. I saw no sign of wear on the camera, only the manual showed signs of usage.

    Cheap, easy to use but noise in higher ISO

    This camera is cheap and light weight. I like to use this camera with my old lens. It works fine. But one thing I feel disappointed is the noise appears when use higher ISO.
