    Excellent addition to my lenses!

I really enjoy using this lens and it is now the one I usually go to for most everything. The images are sharp and clear, and it is the most versatile lens I've used. The only thing that I'd like better would be a longer (wider range) focal length. Overall, it's a very good, very affordable lens.

  • Solid Performance, Light Weight, Smooth Operation - Decent lens

I'm using this lens on a micro Four Thirds camera (E-PL2). Here is my experience to date: Focusing - fast and quiet to focus. Stops - Changing the aperture is a easy, smooth and positive Zoom - The zoom mechanism is fast, smooth and silent Image quality - Good contrast, excellent color, when wide open has pleasant off-focus background, off-focus foreground is less pleasant but still fully acceptable, it is by no means ugly or unusual looking. It has good resolution with individual hairs of the fur of a squirrel well defined when in the 150mm zoom position. I am using a Lumix Four Thirds to micro Four Thirds adapter that allows for full use of the automated features of the lens (auto-focus, auto stop down). This lens works as you would expect a lens from a major manufacturer to work. It ...

  • Olympus 40/150 Zuiko lens for Evolt digital cameras

Hi Olympus users. After thinking of setting my OM-2's back and going digital, I finally purchased my E-510 about a year ago. The camera is great but the 14/42 lense was alittle lacking, so more power. So, to ebay to buy my 14/54 lense of which I am still amazed with. It is a great, quality lense but I have been also watching the Zuiko 40/150 lenses also, comparing the series one and two. About a month ago while watching several lenses on ebay, I put a bid in on a series one lense, just for fun, and won the bid.......... A week later it was on my camera. Taking photos of our dogs and at our town's veteran's park, I found the lense to be very sharp and maybe alittle brighter that the camera's original lense. The series one 40/150 is slightly larger than the newer, more compact lense but ...

  • Great value for the money.

I'm using this four-thirds lens on a micro four thirds camera (the Olympus E-P1) using a chinese JY-43F adapter. The lens generally works well for me. Picture quality is good but unremarkable. Pictures are neither so awesome that I dance, nor so bad that I weep. However, compared to the Panasonic Lumix H-FS014042 14-42mm (which I also have) in M4/3, the auto-focus on this one is slow and uncertain. With this Zuiko 40-150mm, the auto-focus tends to overshoot and then "seek" back and forth. The Lumix 14-42mm focuses quickly and reliably. This auto-focus wonkiness is not enough of a problem for me to leave the lens out of my bag, and at home altogether. But it's enough of a problem to make me think twice about when to use it. Maybe on an four thirds camera, this would not be a ...

  • Olympus 40-150 f3.5

I purchased the lens because I desired a longer telephoto that I can use for general walkaround/street/portraiture/event photography. I am happy with my purchase. She is a beautifully built, robust lens. I am using it with my Olympus E-Volt 410. It dwarfs the small camera body, but I like the look of it; reminiscent of 1970's 35mm SLRs. It is a relatively fast (for the price) lens, which is sharp and has good colour rendition. I love the fact that it has a steel mount, which was missing on the kit lens, giving a nice tactile feedback when installing it onto my camera. It feels as though it is built to last; I hope this lens will be in my collection for tens of thousands of pictures to come. Cheers, Bob
