The Astatic 636L-C noise canceling microphone will get your voice to your intended recipient without leaving them wondering what you are saying. It is compatible with all 4-pin CB, SSB, and HAM radios. This Astatic 636L 4-pin microphone also features a soft vinyl lip guard, stainless steel spring strain relief, and a polyurethane-coated steel grille. The Astatic 636L handheld, dynamic mic was designed for close talking in areas with high background noise. Popular among truckers, the 636L has been used commercially in public service agencies throughout the USA. The housing is rugged to ensure that you can talk on the microphone even if it takes a beating. The Astatic 636L handheld mic features a frequency response of 100Hz to 5,000Hz, and 200 OHMS impedance. The lower impedance means the signal will flow through the microphone easily. The cable consists of six wires, five conductors, one conductor shielded, coiled cord with a durable strain relief. The coiled cord doesn’t tangle, so it makes reaching for the microphone and grabbing it an easy task, and it coils when you put it back up on its hook. When coiled, the cord is only 4 feet in length. The cable also stretches to 7.5 feet long, meaning you could talk on the CB while curled up in the bed in the back of the truck. The connector for this microphone is a standard 4-pin connection. Professional Driver's Choice Microphone
As a professional driver (aka trucker) a microphone gets a lot of use and abuse. There are really only 2 choices, either this one or an RK-56 which used to be a Turner mic and better, but is not since Turner sold the rights to the name. Astatic has been a proven performer for longer than I've been on the air... remember paying $20 for your FCC license to operate a CB? Call signs? Channel 11? Coffee breaks? Only 23 channels? Tubes? This is a proven mic and my 2nd 636. I opted for a "pretty'" one with the metal shielded cable and chrome (trucker, remember?). I still have my last one and it's about 15 years old. This is not an amplified mic like the D-104 so you don't get all the background noises... not to knock the D-104, another great mic but with a different function (had a few of them ... Vast improvement over original microphones (6 in use), purchased for customer needing better connection to the plug. Sound quality feedback is excellent. Cord is probably longer than generally needed but this one doesn't stretch. Looks to be the same as the old pay telephones were using. These were used on Courier 29 c.b. radios.

My husband had me purchase this for his front loader that he uses at work (Stone Quarry). He has to use the cb all the time with all the truckers that come in so he knows how much stone they need. He said the cb mic is very nice and really liked the cord being longer than some others that he's used in the past.
