Great device - have used it as soon as it arrived in the post - no issues with price and great service! - I was curious how the parcel went by truck half way around the US, then eventually arrived at a depo in IL, was then a week later posted to Paris in France? !! and the next day arrived in Germany? How the seller and buyer would benefit from this I dont know as surely there would be a quicker and equally cost effective way of sending this in the US system eg nearest airport to Germany?

Ok - but very poor button placement
This unit is very poorly designed from this users standpoint - the location of the buttons makes it way too easy to inadvertently erase a file. Far too complex a filing system than necessary. I can't begin to think of the end users they had in mind when they designed it.

DS-330
The DS-330 is a perfect compact dictaphone. Contrary to what E-bay Sellers say you are NOT able to download the software from the Olympus website. You must have the CD that originally came with the DS-330 recorder AND product registration key in order to install the software from that CD. You are however able to download updates from the Olympus website. The Olympus DSS Player Version 6 has a great Device Detector (Device Detector ver. 3) which automatically download your dictation files from the handheld onto your PC. The Update time and date feature (automatically) updates the DS-330 unit everytime you connect it to your PC which is extremely helpful especially in a doctors office.The DS-330 is a perfect compact dictaphone. Bought two of them as back up as I expect my original one to eventually give up the ghost after years of hard use. Ebay total cost of each(including shipping) was from $13-$30. Please know that you do need to have at least one Olympus CD-ROM to download onto your computer and thus send your digital recordings out.Heard that these tried and true compact, easy to use digital recorders are no longer being produced. Easiest recorder to use - too bad it's DC'd.
What I love about it is it has the least amount of buttons, bells, and whistles you don't need, small (pocket size), and simple-dimple to use. What I hate about it is Olympus has chosen to discontinue making this very popular model hoping to force you to buy a more expensive one that's way too complicated and not what we need for our business. Bring it back! ( :
