AT&T offers superior service. The Mini is the best size/value of the iPads.
I love the size of the Mini. I had the iPad 2 before the Mini ever came out and it's so much larger to carry around but I don't even notice the difference in screen size when using the Mini. It's just such a compact size to carry around, I would never go back to a full size iPad. The battery life is excellent and personally the GSM models such as AT&T or T-Mobile are far superior to the CDMA models of Verizon or Sprint. When they're on LTE they're all the same. But when not covered by LTE Verizon uses an old 3G system called EVDO, Sprint uses their WiMax system that they're getting rid of. Both AT&T and T-Mobile use HSPA+ when not on LTE. They don't need to be on LTE to have 4G capability. Verizon's commercials emphasize their LTE coverage. It's the same with their phones. If you're not on ... I love the size of the Mini. Verizon matched it for October, while AT&T still has it until the end of November. Plus AT&T will give you the $15.00 or $25.00 access fee per phone even if you're still under contract. With Verizon you pay the $40.00 per phone until the day your contract is up. AT&T has done a lot to get their prices closer to T-Mobile. Verizon has done nothing outside of October only. Lastly, it's only $10.00/ month to add this iPad to our existing mobile share plan on AT&T. Yes you can use the mobile hotspot feature for free but for 10 bucks this way you don't need to have the phone and iPad together to always be connected.

Great for travel, durable, very multitalented, if you can get for a deal
Firstly, I am replacing an iPad 1 with this one. I have used it for gaming, movies, emailing and book reading. I am very impressed. It has the same insides as an iPad 2 so it will not have the snappiness that an iPad 4 or retina mini will have. With that said the resolution is still great, movies look fantastic on it, reading looks fine too. I find it easier to type on than the iPad 1 actually. This also fits much better in your hands. I have owned an iPad 1, and 2 and this is what I needed. Tested on my home network using speedynet app and on 5ghz I actually got 68mb down which was impressive. Camera is pretty good, not GREAT but decent. Att 4g lte is pretty nice too, I will run some tests to see how fast.Firstly, I am replacing an iPad 1 with this one. Great product - great LTE speeds. Apple has done it again. Another product that just fits into my everyday needs. Better portability and size than the original iPad.
