The SD card camcorder, the SDR-S26, features a powerful 70x optical zoom combined with an advanced optical image stabilization system that corrects hand-shake around 4,000 times per second.The implemented intelligent auto mode function automatically activates several convenient shooting assist functions. These functions include advanced O.I.S.; face detection, which adjusts exposure settings in order to capture faces perfectly; and the intelligent scene selector, which determines shooting conditions and selects scene settings accordingly.The quick start function allows the SDR-S26 camcorder to begin recording just 0.8 second from the time the LCD is opened and this around a third of the time that it takes for a camcorder that records onto DVD discs to start, making it easier to catch those special moments that come with no warning - all in clear MPEG2 DVD quality.The SDR-S26 camcorder features the YouTube Uploader function that makes video uploading super easy! Simply set the camcorder to "Web Mode" and it will record the movie in a YouTube compatible format. After shooting connect the camcorder via USB to a PC and the YouTube Uploader automatically starts. Simply follow the procedure to upload your video clips to the YouTube video-sharing site.The SDR-S26 camcorder offers a function that simplifies the process of copying recordings from the memory card or hard disk drive to a DVD. No PC is required. A DVD disc created this way can be easily played directly from a DVD player.

No complaints with the shipping times or with the item itself. Item description was accurate and came in perfect condition. Camera functions great. The tape job to keep the box closed was light - one piece of tape for each side. There was a good sized hole in the box, not sellers fault but USPS. Good padding inside to keep the camera safe. Paid almost double in shipping for the distance and weight, but you have to jump on it when you see what you want. Would order from the seller again.

    Would Buy this Camera again.

    Pros are the 70x Power Zoom for Greater Distance, Facial Enhancement Feature Compatible with Facial Recognition, and Image Stabilizer evens out the shakiness. The cons are its Life Expectancy is Atrocious and has a lot to do with the Video Screen Door MUST Be Open when turning this Camera On and Off, the Tip is All must be done with the Video Screen Door Open as their is a Design Flaw, if the door is closed when turning Camera on it is surmised that a Power Surge shoots thru the Camera when the Door is finally opened and Shorts out the Camera Causing Loss of not only Function and Screen Display. This does NOT Happen on the First Few Times but adds to the stated premature failure of the Cam. One must Discipline themselves to Open said Door FIRST for On and Leave it OPEN when Turning Off and ...

    This is a camera you'll want to use and have fun using--buy one!

    I bought this to replace an older tape-type camcorder, and found this at a terrific price. It's not HD but the picture quality is perfectly fine. The 70X zoom is beyond belief. The device is also very light and easy to handle, and transferring video files from the SD card is quick and easy. I am mostly a still picture photographer so video is a bit mysterious to me--this camera seems to have difficulties in very low light but I think that's probably a video issue and not specific to t his camera. I'm very happy with it and love using it.

    It is simple and works great with excellent zoom ability

    This camera is over 10 years old and still a viable alternative to the new models of similar specs. I bought this one used to give to my brother for hunting purposes due to its 70x optical zoom and my satisfaction with my own which I think I bought in 2002. Using a 4gb card, the entire length can be put directly to DVD via most recorders. Batteries are inexpensive and simple to replace making prolonged shooting without a charge an easy fix - same with SDHC card. Picture quality is not HD but good. I have had mine for 13 years without an issue of any kind and why I bought the same model used to give my brother.

    These are great little cameras!

    Well the Panasonic SDR-S26 Camcorder is a great choice for a small lightweight Camcorder plus you can usually get one on the cheap, I mean for what you get like 70 X zoom, I mean WoW it's so impressive what all they did hear, all you have to do is take a look and you will see!!
