Too bad Nikon quit making these. I have several of them on various 45-70 rifles. Lots of eye relief and very clear glass. I like the 3x9 best with the four circle reticle. If you can find one, get it! And download the Nikon spot-on app.

There was a couple if different scopes that I viewed on Ebay and at a Big Bow Hunting and Fishing Store...I looked at many scopes in all different price points and I have to say the Nikon w/Carl Zice linses are clear and input alot of light "Great for early morning and the late prime time". The BDC was a little different to me, but I will say they are a great addition!!!! They take the guess work out of it which feels like cheating..LOL... I am currently shooting a Mossburg850 and Hornady SST Slugs. After I had it dialed in at 50yds. it was time to see how close the BDC will be? At a 100yds. the 1st ring was right on the money!!!! and on the other 2 I have to use the top part of the circle, So even though the center of the circle is not my currect aiming point,BUT they are great points of targets!!! I would recommend this scope or any Nikon to anyone that is looking for a GREAT SCOPE!!!!!Read full review
We haven’t hunted with guns for a few years until last season. We equipped one of our newer guns with this Nikon 3 x 9 slug hunter. It was the best scope of the lot, with excellent clarity and Eye relief. We were very happy with it, so we bought another!

This scope is awesome. Crystal clear, easy adjustments and of course the BDC 200 Reticle. It is easily the best scope on the market for the Savage 220 with 3" slugs !!!
