The 7.2-megapixel Lumix DMC-FX07 has a 28mm wide angle 3.6x optical zoom f/2.8 Leica DC lens housed in a compact body, achieved thanks to the incorporation of a Extra High Refractive Index Aspherical Lens (EA Lens). This wide angle lens lets you easily capture large groups of people indoors or expansive architectural structures and sceneries with dynamic width and rich perspective. The lens part comprises of a Leica DC lens of seven elements in six groups, incorporating four aspherical lenses to generate high optical performance while preserving the compactness of the unit. The Leica DC Vario-Elmarit lens inherits both its name and its outstanding quality from the Leica Elmarit lens, renowned in the film camera world for its superb performance and compact size.To fight against the major cause of blurred images, Panasonic invented the MEGA O.I.S. system taking advantage of its outstanding lens technology to compensate for handshake - a feature which has long been incorporated into the Lumix range of cameras. In addition, the DMC-FX07 also compensates for the other major cause of blurred images - movement of the subject. The world's first Intelligent ISO Control (I.I.C.) function, made possible by the Venus Engine III, detects the subject's movement and adjusts the ISO setting and shutter speed to best suit the subject movement and the light condition automatically. The Venus Engine III also enables high-sensitivity recording up to ISO 1250 in full resolution manually. Panasonic's excellent image stabilizing system allows users to take clear, crisp images in any situation automatically, leaving everything to the camera.The DMC-FX07 adopts the Venus Engine III to realize high sensitivity recording at max. ISO 1250 at full resolution. The noise reduction system is greatly improved by removing noise at the processing stages in series. First, critical noise is roughly undraped and the chromatic noise and the luminance noise are separated to respectively go through the supplemental noise reduction process so that the remaining noise is appropriately minimized.

    Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX7

    THis camera's does not skimp on picture quality, or features. Leica optics, panasonic electronics For its cost and size, ease of use, it rivals the much more expensive, larger, heavier 35 mm digital format I was once used to, I own 4 35MM SLR Canon'S of which one is an EOS REBEL. I love this Lumix camera, so simple to use, serves both as great video camera and single pic still camera, weighs in at 5 ounces slightly larger than credit card size with built in flash. I liked this camera so much that I bought 2 more in addition to one I already own and gave each of both them as gifts. Excellent camera. Highly recommend. Has calendar that by view depicts what pics taken on what days of week for easy filing or referencing.

    Excellent Camera

    The Lumix line is our camera of choice for point and shoot. This camera has excellent clarity and resolution. The Leica lens produces great images. It is especially good for macro shots. The images can be blown up without excessive graininess. Although the 7.0 megapixel is not state of the art, it provides plenty of detail for all the uses we have tried. Anti-shake technology has also allowed use of this camera at distances that woild have been impossible before. Solid construction. It takes a decent amount of banging around and has not had a problem. Battery life is excellent. We have never run out of battery - despite using all day - before we have reached a convenient charging moment (overnight). Good camera.

    I love this wide angle bigger zoom camera

    I am a practical and thrifty guy. This is the camera for me. I love the wide angle because I can get great group photos and still see everyone's face. I love that little bit of extra optical zoom (3.6 vice 3.0) I love the small size and easy settings. I can shoot a long time on one battery but I bought a couple extra cheap online so I never run out. I bought two more for wife and daughter so we can all easily share batteries, chargers and snap pics for each other. It takes good pictures, though I am not looking for any photo-journalizm awards. Just great memories.

    Excellent camera.

    This camera is excellent quality with a Leica lens. It is very easy to use. I bought it as a present for my 12 year old granddaughter. She started in simple mode, but quickly learned other features. The mode switch not only displays a symbol, but describes the feature. The handshake stableization gives a sharp picture even if you move the camera.

    Lumix DMC-FX07 7.0 Megapixel Camera by Panasonic

    This is a great little camera which takes high quality pictures. I have another one that my husband kept taking instead of his own camera. So instead of always debating over who will use it on trips I bought him is own and he loves it. The stablizer is great for shaking hands and bumps in the road while taking a picture. Zooming takes the best quality pictures I have ever seen from a digital camera. You can not go wrong owning this camera weather your a beginner or pro. highly recommend this camera.
