Doesn't work
I bought this to be able to start a recording without having to physically be at the camera.....I can see on the cameras led that ithe remote led is flashing but it does not trigger the camera into doing anything......seems like a waste of money

Does NOT work for DCR-TRV260 sony handycam
I was looking for a remote to bypass the menu and playback buttons not working for my camcorder. I saw this remote and hoped for the best. Don't waste your time with this. Remore had no effect on the camera.

Works as advertised. The other reviewer "sham" did not use it with a compatible camcorder. All remote controller IR lights up when you press it, but if its not compatible then of course it won't do anything. #commonsense
