About this product

Product Information

EA Sports' blockbuster football series makes its second appearance on Xbox 360 with Madden NFL 07. In addition to the expected tweaks to the graphics engine and sound, Madden NFL 07's primary area of focus is improving the running game. For the first time in the series, players can take control of the lead blocker and create holes in the defensive line for the tailback to run through. The right analog stick, dubbed the "highlight stick" for this installment, offers new jukes, cutbacks, and signature-style moves for the game's top rushing stars, including cover athlete and MVP Shaun Alexander.

The franchise mode returns with an option to earn "Madden Gamer Points" based on a user's career achievements, which in turn can be wagered with friends or the computer AI to unlock rewards. Franchise owners will also be able to unlock ability-enhancing roles for stars with standout team performances, while defensive minded players can sift through team-specific playbooks instead of calling basic schemes. Both created and injured athletes are eligible to compete in new training-oriented mini-games to improve stats and recovery times, a feature exclusive to Xbox 360. Questionable calls can also be challenged with the replay system in both solo games and online matches via Xbox Live.

This Hall of Fame Edition includes a bonus DVD with an assortment of instructional videos and documentaries. Featured on the disc are a retrospective video on John Madden, the complete eight episodes of "Madden Nation," live videos of the Madden Bowl, and personal hints and tips from the developers at Tiburon.

  • Step in the right direction

Okay, last year's Madden for the Xbox 360 was...for the most part, bad. It was rushed, missed many features and overall just lacked in almost every single area. This year, with the bumps behind them, a lot of people thought EA would be on the learning curve and significantly improve the franchise on the next generation console to set itself up as a spring board for further down the line. Well, they did a lot better, but they still have quite a ways to go. Gameplay: 7/10 This is your typical football game, duh. The new feature is that you can control run blocking, and this takes quite a while to become useful, and even longer to master. It plays just like past Maddens and is easy to pick up, with features that require much training to become second nature and of any use (like the hit ...

  • Madden Has Never Failed Me

I've been playing Madden football games since the early 1990's when it was on Sega Genesis. Every year the game has always improved and I have never, ever been disappointed with a Madden game. Now that it's on the XBOX 360 the graphics are just revolutionary. The difference between the Hall of Fame Edition and normal version isn't too great but it's worth the money difference in my opinion. Madden on the XBOX 360 for me is new and I'm slowly switching training myself on the controls since I used to play PS2. I have noticed that this year there are alot of changes to the gameplay though. Like kicking, it takes time to get used to it but it's what continues to make the game challenging. So, if your a Madden fan, go ahead and get yourself a copy of this one, it's fun and challenging in ...

  • Not that Impressive for me

The game play is smooth as ever, but most maddens in the past 4 years have that. The graphics are awesome, and on HD its just sick. The menu is &*%$#@ horrible. You never know where you are going. The hall of fame players always end up in your franchise mode free agent list. I don't want Mean Joe Green playing for the Lions in my franchise. There is no fantasy draft in your franchise, can't figure out how to change camera angles, and you have no control over your teams stadiums, coaches, etc...in your off season. I'm selling my copy that I have brand new and in factory wrapping and getting the PS2 version.

  • A must have!

I bought this game because I wanted a football game for my xbox 360. This looked like a good one. I like the superstar mode the best. It lets you be the kind of player you want to be. Also, you can even hire an agent go to mini camp and even have interviews with the media. The franchise mode is pretty much the same, but the new controls are pretty sweet. And the bonus disc is good, it has alot of information. The bonus disc has interviews with the creators of the game and John Madden himself. This is a awesome buy.
