I already own a giftset myself, so I thought that it would be a great Christmas gift for 2 of my grandchildren and my son (their uncle). We are all great fans on Harry Potter and the trunk full of treasures makes a great impression. Each movie is in a jewelcase and folder representing the year that Harry was in Hogwarts. The bookmarks are worth the price in themselves. There is also an interactive game and trading cards with pictures of the characters. Before Christmas, my son had said that the Harry Potter series is the best thing you can have because of the characters and the storylines. I also bought the "Half Blood Prince" DVD to finish out the series up to now. As I said, the giftset is very impressive to own and to give as a gift. The only thing that you have to be aware of is what kind of DVD player you or the recipient own. This set is High Def, so it will play on a high def or Blu-ray player but not on an older DVD player.Read full review
This set is a gorgeous addition to anyone's prized Hi Def collection. Considering the exact video quality as Bluray , HD dvd was unfortunately short lived, but there were still ALOT of great titles released on this format before it's demise. This set is one such that is an excellent portrayal of the Harry Potter Series. The average price on this stunning HD DVD set is close to a quarter of what you'd pay for the blu ray set for the same video quality!!! I was afraid to open it due to it's unique collectibility and beauty!! A won't regret purchase by anyone's standards !!!!
This is an amazing set. Each movie has 2 discs (movie & special features) in cases that look like books. Even the bonus DVD & interactive game are "books". The bookmarks are beautiful & are significant items in the movies. The trading cards are in an envelope addressed to Harry. All comes in a box that looks like Harry's trunk. It even has a Hogwarts sticker! The only part I don't like is that I can't place them with the rest of the DVDs
This was a no-brainer purchase for me. Having a x-box360 hd-dvd player i needed to get my movie library up. And what a deal to get started with. HARRY POTTER'S first 5 films. As a die-hard fan of harry the choice was simple...and the price for this set was amazing! I could go on record and say this is one of, if not the coolest box-set i've purchased. Very creative and original in terms of box-set releases. Some studios should take note on how to service good fan-fare. Well done indeed.
