Harman Kardon seems to be decreasing in quality over the past few years; I have owned seven different units and each new piece of audio equipment seems to be a little less than the last. I have owned three amps, two are non functional. I have owned four cd/DVD players and all are non-functional. The CDR 20 is an example of this in my opinion. I remember when the HK name meant high quality and fine craftsmanship, it now joins the rank of Pioneer and a few others that are in the middle range. I think the list price of the CDR 20 is about $200 too high. There is nothing remarkable about the unit. I purchased mine on Ebay for $139 and therefore can't squabble. The recording quality leaves a little to be desired but this could be because the unit is used. I was able to hack my way through some of the operation without a manual, but a through reading of the manual is a must. In summation, it is high priced, other than that, a good unit, but nothing to write home about. JeffRead full review
This my 5th Harman kardon Cd recorder since 2000. I know they have their issues, but I can't imagine using another deck to make cd's on. Easy to use, pretty darn durable, and the sound quality is excellent. I used a couple other manufacturers. But is go to unit. I dread the day when I can't buy blank cd's

I am very satisfied with the sound quality and the ease of use. I hooked it up to my Lowrey Organ and made my first CD album. I can also make copies and play them in my car.
