  • Fast, convenient, but the print quality is worse than flatbed scanners.

I bought this scanner because I have a large number of old photos, films that I made before 2002 - before I buy a digital camera. Some films I've already digitized using a specialized attachment to the flatbed scanner. This way I got the files of good quality, but each frame takes about one minute - this is a very long time. I made the adjustment to retake their own films on a digital camera in macro mode, but I did not like the quality of backlight. When I saw this device on ebay I bought it. Quality certainly is not high, but the operation of copying only takes 5 seconds. Quality amateur photos plays no big role.

  • Slide Scanner

I have no experience with scanning slides. I bought this to try my hand at doing so, without a huge investment. We scanned several unidentifiable negatives and actually "saw" them for the first time. It works very well and I have no complaints. It's meant for 35mm slides and negatives. I will have to get a larger, more complicated unit in order to work with the piles of older, large format negatives we have from the 1920's and earlier. The unit is small and lightweight. If you can imagine this: it's basically a small, double-sided light box. That's the principle upon how it works.

  • Using this scanner is a blast!!!

I bought this scanner so I could put the slides of the family from 1962 on my computer. I was surprised at how easy it is to do that. I'm not much of a teck person, and this scanner makes it do-able.

  • Waste of My Money

I don't recommend anyone buying this scanner. First off the manual that came with the scanner has a picture of an options dialog that isn't in the program (that came with the scanner) when installed. Second this being a 5MP scanner is a joke. Maybe 1MP, if that. Every negative I've tried scanning has come out extremely grainy.
