Magellan RoadMate 3045-LM (Loved and Simple to use)
Like this Model (Magellan RoadMate 3045-LM) because it is simple to use for what it does, gets me from point A to point B, and tells me Miles and ETA. I have 2 of this Model to use in both vehicles. Includes FREE Lifetime Software and Map Up-Dates and Traffic. This Model is so good that though Magellan released it in 2010, they are still selling New and Refurbished ones on their website. 4-STARS because it has some "Quirks" (doesn't seem to "see" some shorter/quicker Routs - software needs updated). Selecting Shortest Distance in a city produces a useless zig-zag route left/right/left/etc. from block to block.Like this Model (Magellan RoadMate 3045-LM) because it is simple to use for what it does, gets me from point A to point B, and tells me Miles and ETA. admittedly I bought it refurbished for the cheap price.
But even then , it is junk. Used for 2 days in my work vehicle then it conked out on me and show to plug into pc using usb. I did and this junk still wont update or do anything else. Waste of my money

Good overall GPS
My daughter needs a GPS for driving outside of her local area, so we bought this Magellan 3045LM when she started work. She's used it now for about 3 months and been reasonably satisfied with it - storing addresses, getting her to the correct address, being reasonably easy to understand. All of these are reasonably good. I do have to say that at times, it can be hard to understand the voice that is telling you the name of the upcoming street, but if you listen for the sounds of which way to turn, you will be fine. Will get you home when lost in your own little world or in a paperbag
We bought this as an upgrade to the Magellan Maestro, for the updated maps free all yr long. This GPS has been so helpful in lots of ways, having a speedometer on it is great cuz our gauges sometimes work and sometimes don't, that and when working it is 20 mph off. The directions are easy to understand and hear and follow, the arrows are fantastic and little dings when to turn. The screen is nice and big and when there is traffic trouble it gives detour routes, which is a great help so I am not stuck in traffic and lost if I turn off somewhere. The only bad thing I can say is that it can't read my mind as far as the way I know is a straight shot & easy to get to so I ignore the directions.
