9055 is better than a book of maps and not as hard to use read the manual
This is my second 9055 the worst first the save and load just will not work I use win7 the update has problems and the load for map updates is not good some times it gets lost and I must reset the stop adding a new stop to a many stop route / or removing a old one is not so good. Now for the good its nice and big the voice is easy to work with that great big screen is easy to glance at for quick orientation when needed and map movement I got this one as a backup to my older one so I wouldn't have to learn a new unit and its logic hopping that the software would move the routes from one to the other but it did not work nor does the backup. I run a route of over 60 stops and its a pain as I needed to code up 4 routs to get it all in but it is still much better that a book of maps and a ... Second time around with Magellan GPS, and I'll do it again !!!!!!
My car is a later model vehicle, but the Magellan Roadmate 9055 brought me up to date: Now I have great GPS which I can see better now because it's larger, the good news, the Bluetooth is out of this world, it work better then my smart phone itself, and loud and clear, and Text, and has Traffic Alert which is amazing telling me when there is 15 miles radius trouble near me in the car. Also has the capacity of 6" Backup screen. Just don't get no better then this. TERRIBLE!
Purchased this unit to hook up their wireless back up camera, after trying 2 gps units and 2 back up cameras and purchasing a $30 cable from radio shack to troubleshoot the unit with 15 calls to their tech support (INDIA?)I asked them if anyone else was having problems with this unit and camera which they admitted they did. Spent a lot of time exchanging units and phone calls. Their tech support is terrible, told me to have a professional check my wires. There are 2 wires and I am a mechanic, very frustrating to deal with their tech people who are hard to understand. I took the GPS units back and sent the cameras back to Magellan, these units are JUNK and the quality control at Magellan leaves a whole lot to be desired. Cost me $$$ for return shipping and a $30 cable to troubleshoot unit, ... A real deal for the price!!!
The Magellan 9055-LM is one of the best purchases I have made on e-bay.It has all the features one could want.My son and I took a trip in our motorhome and the Magellan alerted us to delays and heavy traffic areas which saved us time .The displays are very easy to read and the unit tells you your elevation,which is really neat.I would recommend this to anyone who travels.Just a great unit!
