    True sound, no bass enhancement

    The Klipsch X4i headphones are very high quality products. They feel well made and have a nice fit with the choice of earpieces that come with them. The highs are crystal clear, midrange is strong. What they are not is warm. The sound is almost clinical if that makes sense. There is very little bass compared to the Sony XB50AP earbuds I,ve been using for the last year. I prefer a richer sound than the X4i delivers, but the price was great for a quality set of earphones by a great manufacturer.

    Useless and frustrating

    TO the point. Trying to get the earphones out of their packaging was extremely difficult and unnecessarily impenetrable. They're only phones not a Rolex!! I sure all the "clever" thief-proof packaging would have been justified if these phones were of higher quality but sadly they turned out to a great disappointment. They are made for a small ear whole and should be noted as such. Second, the "extra" plugs are pathetically small, causing the phones to fall out constantly to the point where you curse the day you purchased them. I am unhappy with the subpar quality and stinginess Klipsch has displayed in this model/version. Note: there is no way you can re-package the item for return as you have to virtually destroy it trying to get the earphones out. They (earphones) are too small AND ...

    Never write reviews, but felt compelled to do so about these:

    I'm just slightly more than a casual listener. I've tried dozens of headphones and players, and I listen to hours of music and lecture a day. Still, I can't hear a difference between mp3s and lossless audio files that the true audiophile claims, and I've only spend more on headphones on one occasion: Skullcandy Aviators (excellent) Anyway: I paid $40 for these headphones after browsing an hours worth of glowing reviews from said audiophiles. Unfortunately, my conclusion is quite different from theirs, and I'd not recommend purchasing these. Sound quality: Barely able to compete with most upper end skullcandy or midline sony buds that can be bought for $20-$30 on sale. It's not bad, but I'm mostly underwhelmed considering the original MSRP, or even the reduced price I got them ...

    Surprisingly good

    Over all are very agreeable. The flat response along the audio spectrum takes some time to get use to. Then when you compare this sound caracteristic wiitn a normal earbud others sound colored or artificial. The representation of the music and specially speech are realistic and pleasent. Proper placement for sound isolation is critical. The limit of the transducer at 16 kHz is more than adequate. If you are looking for a boomy bass this are not for you. Well built. Good value.

    Excellent

    Really picky about my earbuds..these are awesome! Sounded good out of the box but I feel like they now sound twice as good with some Comply 100 isolation earbud tips. Really makes a huge difference. Nice base and great mids and highs as expected from Klipsch. Have tried skull candy, Sony, Panasonic and others and now when I go back to listening to these brands they sound really bad after time with Klipsch!
