This little phono preamp far exceeded my expectations! Setup was basic & easy. Manual was lacking in making the best gain settings. But it was not hard to figure out to minimize distortion. Unit out performs my old solid state preamp. The resulting sound quality on my 6-speaker surround is great!!

A great little investment.....
When I play records I want the warmth, the oomph I enjoyed back in the 70's. Many of today's modern playback systems lack those qualities. Adding tubes in the preamp section brings it all back. Now I can go back to annoying my neighbors with all that deep, rich bass. Alright now.....!

Having grown up with record player and tube valve amps, was missing the the quality fidelity of analog media in this digital world. The distinct crackle of vinyl media with amplified by amps with tube valves have their own distinct tones. When I recently got back into my vinyl collection, my quest for good sounding preamps came to a final conclusion with this pre amps. Input from Sony LP player and out to my Sony AV receiver, this pre amp makes the music sound like just the way its was supposed to- Hi-Fi!!!! compared tube preamp to soliid state preamp and a big difference. i am using it with a tube amp. did not try on solid state amp. there is a knob adlustment to match your cartridge to your amp
