    Sigma 30mm 1.4

    This lens has no lS, so the results using handheld are not great, put the same lens on a camera mounted to a tripod and the results are amazingly sharp especially when you use live view mode and zoom in to focus. l wouldn't use this lens as a general walkabout lens, shame it doesn't have IS.

    Buy it, you will not be disappointed

    For the crop sensor Canon camera this lens is a no brainer. Much cheaper than the canon equivalent (the 35mm f/1.2) which is a better lens but not as much as the price difference suggests. On a crop sensor the 30mm gives a 48mm field of view on a full frame 35mm camera, which is pretty much "as the eye sees it". It is good for a variety of situations. Its a pretty decent landscape lens, and a great portrait lens. its also tack sharp wide open at f/1.4, which not many lenses are capable of or pull off, and at this price point there are not any lenses that can do this. buy it, you will not be disappointed.

    Outstanding quality

    This is a truly outstanding lens, auto ficus is fast and very quiet and manual focus is smooth and precise with a nice level of resistance to help keep it precise. The image quality far exceeds my expectations having bought it I thought, as a compromise whilst looking at the canon L range, but I’m pretty sure this compares well when balancing cost/quality. If you want top quality Bokeh you will not be disappointed, this lens has it in abundance and beautifully smooth with it. I’m now looking at other Sigma Art lenses to up my photography level instead of my first and natural route to the canon L lenses.

    A must have lens for canon crop dslr

    This is an excellent lens for low light photography as well as portrait photography. I have read about focusing problems on the net but i had no problems or whatsoever on my eos 450D. The lens optically at least in the center is excellent and the build quality is also one of the top. Furthermore the only problem was that i have purchased it from Hong Kong and i took a whole month to arrive. Although it cost 50 euro cheaper i had to pay it for tax.. so i would advise you to purchase them from european sellers. It is an excellent lens for a crop factor dslr.     Excellent sharpness. Bargain price!

    I got it for 200€ and was pleasantly surprised that it also works on Full Frame cameras with acceptable amounts of vignetting. It focuses very quickly and responsively and the image is very sharp. Overall a great value lens!
