Love reading epics - This is Great Entertainment for $50-Awesome value
I love the Outlander Series so i have collected all the books published so far in the Series. For me the most interesting aspect is the time travel, and i enjoy historical novels with an epic quality. It is also a romance novel which sometimes gets in the way of the Epic/Sci Fi part. Her writing has many levels and she draws on many disciplines, her main character is a WWI Army nurse who becomes a physician with surgical skills. It is a very interesting story having these very real characters traveling in time/history and the mystery of why. This series of books has world wide fan clubs Japan, All Europe, Australia, etc. altogether her story catches the imagination of many cultures.I love the Outlander Series so i have collected all the books published so far in the Series. I had lost my book, and have been reading this series since the begining! 1990, 1991?! I place this series on the same level as Harry Potter, and buy these books 1st edition hardcover!! Only these are ADULT BOOKS, and they are keepers! I have also purchased them in audio! DIANA GABALDON, is a great author & person, all of her books are best sellers, and all about this series of Jamie & Claire! They are not just eye gripping reading, but a good lesson of life in the times they are placed! Check out her website, and you see where she speaks & signs her books for free! I drove 100's of miles, and waited many hours to see & hear her. She started signing books & photos at 8:30 pm, and was finishing up after me at almost 3:00 am!! This book is another in the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. Not only did I like the love story between Claire Randall and Jamie Frasier, her Scottish Highlander, but I also loved the look into the daily life of living in the 1700's and all the historic background the series covers from the Scottish uprising in 1745 and all its consequences through the American Revolution. There are two more books in the series now and Claire and Jamie have moved to the new world and the American Revolution is approaching in "The Fiery Cross". I assume the latest book, "A Breath of Snow and Ashes", will take Claire and Jamie further into the encroaching war and give more insight into living in the wilderness. The only dislike of any of the books is, that while they are long, they are much too short. ... This book is another in the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. Jamie Frasier is the most romantic character EVER!!!
This is the second in a series that follows a group of characters through time travel. It's a love story between Claire Randall & Jamie Frasier. These books have been my favorites for several years. I decided to buy this hardback book because I've worn out my paperbacks. All of these books are long, but they are worth the read -- and re-read. The first time I finished the first book in this series I read into the wee morning hours. I was sitting on the couch with tears running down my face. As I finished page 900-something, I turned it right around and started again on page 1. These stories are great!
