Beat my modest expectations
The LiDE 400 Flatbed scanner exceeded my modest expectations. I am using it to digitize the shoeboxes full of snapshots that our family accumulated over the years. I particularly liked the device's ability to scan up to four 3x5 snapshots on a single pass, creating separate digital images for each photo. The ScanGear scanning option is much slower (single images only) but does a fair job of correcting damaged, faded or scratched photos.The LiDE 400 Flatbed scanner exceeded my modest expectations. Nice little machine
Scanner works well, easy to use, but locating scans on my computer isn't so simple. I have kind of figured it out. Previous scanner filed scans differently. The compact size of scanner is nice.

Good scanner for very little money
For the price, this is an excellent, easy to use printer. I make watercolor paintings and wanted a way to get a good copy of my paintings to load on my computer. This does a good job.

I am happily surprised at the output quality.
This model was inexpensive and so I am especially impressed at how well it works (once I got the settings straight). I actually had to call Canon tech support, but they helped me through it and all the features like ScanGear Advanced Mode, and it became kind-of amazing. I give this model 5 stars for the quality, even though it was difficult for me to set up for my specific uses.
