Great Phone... Might as well not have a camera
For the money, this is the best looking and functioning flip phone available in my opinion. The problem is, some of that money paid for the camera. Now the camera... there's a whole different story. It is absolutely the worst digital camera I have ever had the misfortune of attempting to use. The built in speaker phone lacks volume but you can work around that just fine, and the built in features such as voice dialing, 99 speed dial numbers, calendar with alarm/etc. all are very nice and usefull. I've owned two now, the first one I lost and got replaced under extended warranty. Both have absolutely the most awfull camera ever. There should be some sort of easy to understand rating system for the digital cameras on these. It's so bad, it's almost misleading to claim it has a camera. Most ... I think my old-school Nokia was better...
I think the main reason I bought this phone was because it looked hot. It really is a nice looking phone on the outside, and when you flip it open. I cannot complain too much since it was my free-every-two from Verizon phone. I used to have an old-school nokia that I bought in '03 and I never had any problems with it other than it was old. In March of last year when it was time to renew my contract I got this one based on its looks. Pros: 1. If you download any ringers, this phone plays them so nicely. 2. It is very durable. I cannot even count the numerous times I have dropped it or cried on it an nothing happened to it. 3. It has a very strong vibrate feature. I can have it in my purse, on the floor next to my desk, and it manages to get my attention! Cons: 1. I hate the ... I think the main reason I bought this phone was because it looked hot. The screen does not have a very good contrast on it, it never seems to be vibrant enough. 3. It has the weekest battery I have ever seen. Granted I use it all the time and it never gets turned off, but I only talk on it for an hour a day, and by the end of the night, it bleeps "low battery" to me. This phone it great for the fact that you will not have to spend too much money on it. But you will always be attached to a charger, and that is not cool when the point of a wireless phone is not to be tied to anything so you can go anywhere.

Verizon v265 Okay, but just OK
Im going to be completely honest and say that I was so in love with this phone when I got it. I researched a little on ebay before I went to buy it and overall, its not that appealing now. Maybe this is wrong of me, but when I look for a phone, I want features. I want cool things for cheap price. This phone promised that but doesnt really deliver. This phone is capable of playing real music tones, but they are in .QCP format. That is annoying because you cant find any companies that support that file type. It does NOT play mp3s. Verizon locked out this feautre on this model. The tones that you can download that are actual real music tones have a very ... The camera is okay. Its what I would expect from a cell phone camera. Takes clear enough pictures to use as wallpaper or to send in messages. The outside cover of the phone is painted and the paint comes off very easily. Ive had mine about a month now and its scratched in about 3 places and I have never ever dropped this phone. The phone does this thing where if I scroll through my phone book it will eventually freeze up and I have to remove the battery to get it working again. After I replace the battery, the phone says NO SERVICE and loses the clock for a good mintue or two. Call quality is great, I havent had any dropped calls, and I can always hear people. This phone is great for people who dont really care about all the features and just want a new phone with great call clarity.

A Cheaply Made Phone That Shows Its Flaws Well

I am currently on my second one, and she has since replaced hers after going through two herself. Pros: The phone has the same features you might find on most phones nowadays. The phone book holds more numbers than people I even know to store in it. The camera is decent, especially since we got these free with our contract. I like the fact that it has a calendar and an alarm, as I use these features often. It has a nice blue backlight, and you can change the background and color theme of the phone. This is the first phone I have owned with a color screen, and I find it pretty nice to not stare at the same color so much. There are also a lot of ... We called Verizon and went into the Verizon store at their request. Verizon has excellent customer service, and the folks there were nice, and they replaced both of our phones with the same model. Her phone began having the same problems almost immediately, and we were back at the Verizon store within days, at which point she replaced her phone with a newer model. My phone began acting up again a few days ago, and that has prompted me to write this review. I have to charge it every few hours, even if I am not talking a lot. This is of course assuming that I can even get it to charge, as 75% of the time I plug the charger in and nothing happens. I have to wiggle it and monkey around for five minutes or so just to get it to charge. It still drops calls, and seeing that this is the fourth phone of this model between the two of us that has had the same problems, it has to be this model that is problematic. Although I am happy with Verizon as a company, this model phone is cheaply made. I will be upgrading as soon as it is affordable. I really wish that this phone would have had a dust cover to go over the charging port, as that may have helped some. I don't abuse my phone, so I know it's not me. Bottom line, even if it is free, upgrade to something else, and do it within 2 months of the start of the contract, because after that you either pay full price for a new phone, or you wait until the contract is set to renew to upgrade. Unfortunatley Verizon does not give any type of discount to purchase a new phone during the contract term. If this review has been helpful, please let me know by voting.

used motorola v265 phone Ring tone TOO QUIET
I bought this motorola v265 phone to replace my old v265 which quit working after 4 years. The reason I wanted the same type phone is I have a car kit made for this model. The main problem I have with this one is I can't change ring tones to a regular ring I'm hard of hearing and the tone that is in this phone is not very loud,also it cuts off while in use in car kit.IT has been set up same as the old phone which worked well with the kit & also I could change the ring tones ond the old phone. The phone works ok other than those 2 concerns.I bought this motorola v265 phone to replace my old v265 which quit working after 4 years.
