It has way more features than most will need--yet easy to use! This is my second one --bought one for a second room. I'd recommend to a friend AAA+++

right out of the box I hooked it up. The unit would not play Blue Ray discs but would play DVDs just fine, I have spent more time trying to get it exchanged for a new one than the time I have had it..literally had it for one day and then had to send it back...very disappointing.

I have a sony 3d tv and needed a 3d blu-way player. I decided to stay with a sony hoping that it would integrate seamlessly with the tv and sony sound bar particularly with respect to remotes. Unfortunately I still have to mess with all 3 remotes. My 3d experience with the player is excellent as it plays the discs just fine. Also it has most the apps that are redundant with the smart tv except that it has VUDU which my sony tv doesn't. This is very important because VUDU is the only app I know that has 3d movies you can rent as one of their collection choices. You can spend hundred of dollars on a 3d Blu-ray and not have any better equipment and well under $100 including shipping.
I'm no expert electronics reviewer, but I'll share what I know. First, I was truly surprised at how tiny this thing is. It's about the size of a mid-size hardcover book, a far cry from the big stereo-component size players I was accustomed to. But it packs all the punch. It works both hard-wired and wireless to my server and plugs into my amp with an HDMI cord. It plays DVDs beautifully and accesses a great number of online servers. So, I use it as my disc player and for Amazon Prime, Netflix, Pandora, etc. I've never watched a Blu-Ray disc, but I'm glad I'm prepared. It does a great job with my CDs and DVDs. I'm very pleased with it so far, and I got it at a great price. Now I can get rid of all these other players, and I can watch my online stuff on my main rig, not just my iPad.

Easy hookup make sure you have your router password handy if doing wireless. Took only a few seconds after entering the information to get a home page up. Then check for updates didn't take long for that either. Your up and running. The unit is small and compact but has a boat load of info. Used the HDMI hookup for my audio system. The remote is easy to use. And now I can watch any dvd OR blu-ray and of course 3D-Blu-ray which is awesome. I mainly got this for that. I chose Sony That's all I buy for home entertainment.
