best SatNav I've ever used
I've used this same device for 4 years now. Satellite signal usually appears fairly quickly. Never lost signal when in use. As long as maps are updated at least once a year (free for North America! thank you TomTom), navigation mistakes are all but nonexistent. User interface is intuitive. You can change a lot of it's settings and customize it to your needs/preferences. If you're traveling to another country, TomTom lets you download that country's map onto the device for a pretty nominal sum, and you can use it there as easily as at home! The plastic case and bezel are made of quality premium plastics. Screen is easy to see during the day or night. Only service to SatNav was replacing the battery, which was pretty easy and took about 20 mins after easily buying a battery online. The ... I've used this same device for 4 years now. Larger screen, good gps.
I have a TomTom GO 910, that still works great and got XXL 550TM hoping for similar results. They are very different. Although GO 910 is much older, it still faster, and the menu was easier to user then the new model. I guess with larger screen, lighter and new technology, it still cannot match with some old gps. There are new improvements on the new model. The suction that was a concern for some people, did not happen to me. It held and was easy to mound to the windshield. There were software updates needed, and the link failed with the computer. I did not test the Traffic thingy, since my drive is only 15-20 minutes. I also did not update the maps either. I miss the 20 gig storage space from Go 910. However, i payed $700 when GO 910 first came out and this one only cost me $140 (not the ...
