A mysterious criminal mastermind has stolen one of the pyramids in Egypt, sparking a fit of jealous envy in evil genius Gru (Steve Carell), who hasn't managed to make headlines since he and his minions swiped the Times Square JumboTron years back. Ever since Gru was a little boy, he dreamed of going to the moon. Now, if Gru can just build a rocket and get his hands on a powerful shrink-ray, he can cement his reputation as the greatest thief who ever lived by stealing the Earth's satellite right out of the sky. But immediately after Gru heists the shrink-ray, the cunning super-nerd Vector (Jason Segel) swoops in and snatches it right out of his hands. Now, in order to claim the moon, Gru must first reacquire the weapon from Vector. Armed with the knowledge that his nemesis has a mean sweet tooth, Gru adopts cookie-selling orphans Margo (Miranda Cosgrove), Agnes (Elsie Fisher), and Edith (Dana Gaier) and commissions a new line of cookie robots from the evil Dr. Nefario (Russell Brand), his personal weapons specialist. But as Gru and his diminutive yellow minions prepare to carry out the biggest heist in history, something strange happens. Gru discovers that the three little girls who have come into his life are much more than simple pawns. They actually seem to care about Gru, and it turns out the scheming evildoer makes a pretty good father. When Gru realizes that his upcoming moon mission clashes with a ballet performance by the girls, he must decide what's more important -- being a present parent or cementing his nefarious reputation once and for all.

    My kids love this one!!!

    From 5 - 16 all the kids seem to senjoy this one. Adults can get some kicks out of it as աell. ;) I աould recommend this movie for the trending price, so if you find a good deal...grab it up!

    Despicable Me - Great Family Gift Set

    Despicable Me is a charming tale about a bad dude who while trying to use three orphaned sisters in a plot for his own purposes unwittingly becomes their father figure and in the end . . . a pretty good one! I bought this set as a gift for my niece and her family (husband and small daughter). I had seen the movie at the show and knew they would enjoy it. The set was perfect for their needs because my great niece spends time with her grandparents and they do not have Blu-ray at their house. If she wanted to watch it there, they would have the DVD copy she could view. And, who wouldn't want to watch the little extra Minion movies! I was excited that this was available before Christmas. It was a gift they were glad to receive.

    Great Fun for the Entire Family, A Must See......

    This Movie is Great fun for the entire Family. The story and animation is excellent and gives Pixar a run for the money. The "minions" are entertaining and add a perfect mix of cute and comedy without being stupid. Steve Carel is perfect as "Gru", Despicable Me. Carel is perfect for the role. "Vector" whose voice is Jason Segel, bares a striking resemblance to a young Bill Gates. With his inventions like a piranha gun and squid launcher. All the characters are endearing, which is funny because they are the "Bad Guys". And the three little girls/orphans are simply adorable, along with "Kyle" the so called kinda dog. Russel Brand lends his amazing talents to voice an elderly gadget making bad guy, with Julie Andrews voice for "Gru's" disapproving mother. The story is cute enough for ...

    Great Family Flick with super high definition!

    We bought Despicable Me right after we bought a new Blu Ray DVD player. We wanted a family movie that we could all enjoy that would also showcase the Blu Ray's graphics ability. Despicable Me did not disappoint at all. The picture was razor sharp and very high definition. The movie was very funny and everyone really enjoyed themselves. It was a great movie for the family to enjoy together. Also I got it on Ebay for a very good price compared to buying it a the local big box discount store. Highly recommended.

    MANY MINIONS AGO IN A GALAXY FAR, FAR AWAY...

    Bad guy goes good after his heart strings are plucked by three orphaned girls. Gru and his girls are GREAT!!! The only character I didn't care for was the banker, but, got to admit, he was "perfect" for the role he played. This is witty, winsome, and you will be grinning from ear to ear for most of the movie. If you don't instantly fall in love with the Minions (the little yellow guys), then something must be seriously amiss in your DNA. This is a feel good movie, works well for all ages, and one you will watch over and over. Best DVD buy of 2011 for me.
