I purchased the Kodak easyshare Z885 a few weeks ago to replace an HP camera that lacked acceptable photo quality. I am very pleased with it's performance. This camera is completely user friendly. It has built in prompts and turorial for all of it's features. I enjoy the high iso range that has allowed me to take perfect photos in the most extreme low light settings. The only thing that I can say I am not pleased with is the camera body which is pretty delicate. It's highly advisable to keep this camera in a sturdy case when not being used. The kodak easy share z885 has proven itself to be a camera of great value for a low budget buyer.
I'm really liking my new KodakZ885. Once I figured out about the settings, it's all smooth sailing. I had my setting on smart scene and alot of the pictures were not able to download, you would see them in the camera but they would not download to the computer. I switched to high ISo or image stabilization modes and there have been no such problems, all pictures now download. The zoom is better than avgerage, ease of use, and quick, easy downlaod all amke for a good experience. Only problem is battery life, the AA batteries such don't last long enough.
I bought the Z885 for a change of types of cameras, it's not what I really wanted, but is a great little camers for the money. I have taken around 1000 pics so far and I'd say that 950 are keepers. The rest is probably my fault, because I am used to the old Kodak DX6490. I miss some features of it and love some on the Z885, so it was a great buy. Will buy another soon, probably the Kodak Z1485.........But will keep this one handy in the car for that shot you just don't want to miss.....
i previously owned a 2 mp easyshare camera and wanted better resolution for portraits. i design glass countertops, and needed fine resolution for my designs. i was very pleased with my old camera, for general pictures, but resolution was not high enough for blow-ups to 14" & 16" photos. this little camera is the greatest purchase that i have ever bought. the price was excellent, and the performance is even better than i had hoped. easy to use, and with the 2 gb card, i can save as much as i like. the share button (which optimizes pics for email and printing) is the largest time saver of all, now i don't even have to put them on my computer and edit them before sending to a potential customer. I LOVE IT. IT GOES EVERYWHERE WITH ME NOW. charles davis
I'm extremely pleased with my purchase and would recommend this camera to anyone. It takes great photos on the auto setting and also has a wealth of manual settings anyone into photography on enthusiast or professional level will love. The 8.1 mega-pixel rate is great for blowing up photos without loosing picture quality. It uses 2 AA batteries which get fairly good battery life. Mine came with a small plug in charger which fits in the carrying case included. I always carry an extra set of rechargeables and have had no problems. The zoom function is top notch and I use it often. I suggest purchasing a memory card, the kit I purchased came with a 2 GB which fits into my PC. All photos come up easy, appearing almost as another disk drive and are easy to work with. All in all I am very pleased with the purchase of this camera. L.R.Read full review
