Excellent phone with many features
I have found only one annoying feature with this phone: it is too easy to turn on Bixby, the helpful but annoying concierge, whether you want him/her or not. This is due to the placement of the button to turn Bixby on where you place your thumb if you hold the phone in your left hand. Additionally, I miss having the on/off button on the back of the phone, as on my old LG, where it was very easy to reach. An uneven experience
Samsung S8 has many authentication methods, via fingerprint, face recognition and by iris scan. Each of these works only sometimes. I'd rather had one method working 100% of the time. The placement of fingerprint scanner is not well thought out. The phone is very slick and looks amazingly well, with very thin bezels. But what makes it look so good also makes it hard to use. it's a challenge to hold it steady without touching the screen. Bigsby assistant button is often in your way, thankfully it can be disabled. Biggest disappointment for me was that I could not update the phone. The authentication failure prevented a simple on-the-phone update, and when I attempted to use Smart Switch on my mac, after taking over an hour to download 3.5 GB of data, and decrypt it, transfer to the phone ...
