Can't install into Infocus LP640, spent 5 hours trying
Installing a new lamp into the Infocus LP640 projector is notoriously difficult, but in the past I've always accomplished it within a few minutes. The housing tan part of the lamp module must be made quite precisely to at least some of the critical dimensions, and many of these manufactured by different manufacturers are only barely or just plain not to the required precision. This one just wouldn't install, with difficulty goes in almost, but just won't go the last apx. 3/16 inch, preventing it from making electrical contact and from closing the interlock switch. Three of us tried for an hour and a half, finally gave up. I brought the unit home and worked on it again this afternoon for 3 hours, filed suspiciously oversize corners, even partly disassembled it, finally giving up. It ... Product fit projector very well. Simple job to install. Appeared to be of similar materials and build quality to the original housing and bulb. Initial viewing showed a clear, bright image with good contrast. Did not require tweaking to the color settings. Minor adjustments were needed to brightness and contrast senhad been set for the old, dying lamp. So far, happy with this purchase.
