About this product

Product Information

General Gus Grover is about to betray his country -- and the world. As the leader of the Metal Command, he plans to take over 2030s Earth with his army of cyborgs. The only hope against this ruthless army is Steve Hermann, who after being granted indestructible cybernetic hands following a near-death experience with a cyborg, is perhaps better known as Shatterhand.

In Shatterhand, it's up to you to guide Hermann through seven stages of cyborg destruction. To help him out against these forces, including the bosses that conclude each stage, are power-ups such as health, more power and extra life. Additionally, Shatterhand can pick up alpha-beta icons. Once three of these are collected, he'll have a satellite robot that hovers above his head, delivering additional firepower to his deadly punches. The type of satellite robot depends upon the mix of alpha-beta icons attained.

The fate of the world's people rests upon the shoulders of one man. Make them grateful, Shatterhand.

CURSE YOU LATER NES TITLES!! Why did you fly so under the radar?

This game is one of the best games no one has played, until recent yimes, thanks to the internet and dedicated gamers!! Shatterhand is one of those titles that was completely overshadowed by the Snes that came out to the Usa in 90. By then everyone moved on, and most of and Natsume's works went unnoticed. Game is superb in every category, gameplay, graphics, music, and it even had a little story added, a bit tongue in cheek. PICK IT UP, RIGHT NOW!!

  • 5 out of 5! Will play again.

Shatterhand is a very underrated game mainly because it was released a few months after the Super NES debuted in North America. It has great graphics and music for an NES game. The overall design of the game is kind of like Mega Man in that you choose which level to complete and there's a boss at the end of the level. Also, it's very challenging, so it may take some time to grok the boss fights, levels, and controls; it's definitely not for the casual gamer. So if you like the classic Mega Man games, you'll love this game.

  • Awesome bit of nostalgia.

Excellent game that I wish I would have came across as a child. Fun gameplay, great music, great action.

  • Shatterhand an instant classic

If you like games like the Megaman series,Batman(very similar to Batman the video game, just more lively and not so dark), Journey to Silus. Then you will love thic action packed 8-bit tressure. Luckily I scored mine over the weekend for about a quarter but its way better than the 5 hard earned dollars I wasted playing on games like Beetlejuice, or Roger Rabbit. The most unique aspect of this game is that you can punch out barriers in front of you like pillars and what have you. The power-up are intresting and the gameplay is smoothe and the levels has an intermeidate level of challenge. pretty decent graphics for an 8-bit game too. Did I mention the music in this game rocks!!

  • Shatterhand

This was a real classic game I grew up with, never very famous. Has just enough difficulty to be challenging, but not frustrating, Nor is it a walk through. It definitely will provide $8.00 of entertainment and is worth a try for any avid NES gamer. One of the major fun factors of the game is the fairly large variety of little helper bots you can achieve through the game. In different areas, different bots can really help or hinder your progress, and it keeps the game from becoming too repetitive. Game On
