Although guitar heroics often take the lead in modern popular music, rock & roll has always been a group activity, and Activision's Band Hero aims to gets the whole crew into the act. As its title proclaims, the continuation of the genre-founding Guitar Hero series sets center stage for the whole band -- drummers and vocalists as well as lead and bass guitarists -- and is designed to let gamers play along with a diverse selection of contemporary and classic rock and pop songs, using their favorite instruments in their own style. To keep the focus on fun, Band Hero offers "No Fail" gameplay modes for instrumentalists, and a "Sing-Along" mode for karaoke-style parties, allowing players to open up and express themselves, without worrying about keeping up with progressions or scoring points. The game's "Party Play" mode allows players to drop in and out of a song at will, as the music keeps playing.<br><br>The console disc edition of Band Hero offers more than 65 popular songs. Top selling country crossover star Taylor Swift is prominently featured in the game, with the inclusion of three songs from her first two original albums, and the artist's performances were motion-captured to bring her in-game persona realistically to life. Guitarist and singer Adam Levine of Maroon 5 was motion-captured, as well, for his appearance in the game as a playable character. Band Hero's play-along soundtrack also includes timeless tracks such as David Bowie's "Let's Dance," Devo's "Whip It," the Jackson 5's "ABC," "Mr. Roboto" from Styx, and original hit singles from a diverse selection of artists, including Aly and AJ, Cheap Trick, Fall Out Boy, the Go-Gos, the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Roy Orbison, Tonic, the Village People, and many others.

    Good game for good price

    The game is good. In comparison to PS3 version it's a little lacking since simpler system but the vocals system is actually better on this ps2 version. Enjoying greatly since all same songs so no complaints. If you buy it you won't be disappointed.

    Good for older teens and above due to images

    Fun game for parents to play too. Good combination of new popular songs and older favorites. Only thing is game loads slowly. To help with the band hero allows you to make your own playlist of up to five songs when in quickplay mode. Didn't like the fact that when creating own player alot of time they showed the girls almost naked. Not very family friendly in that aspect. Band Hero plays just like all the other Guitar hero products. Alot of fun!! Game is well worth the purchase.

    Band Hero PS2 game is very enjoyable

    I like this game a lot because it has so many songs on it and because they cover a wide variation of artists and rock way beyond just the heavy metal rut that most of the Guitar Hero series fell into. Glad to get away from all the storyline stuff that they started building into GH to advance from stage to stage. I enjoy the Stones, ZZ Top, Boston, Sting, Taylor Swift, Big Country, and many of the other artists on this original songs (not covers) listing! Heck, is like getting a greatest hits collection of 70 songs for one low price that can be played via your PS2. Probably my second favorite band type PS2 game behind my Rock Band Country Track Pack (yes, I do enjoy C&W)

    Band Hero is a very fun game

    I bought this game because I have heard good things about it. I liked the music on it. If you like songs by Taylor Swift, All American Rejects, Maroon 5, then you will like this game. The only thing I didn't like about this game is that my singstar microphones aren't compatible with this game. Just know that you have to buy the microphones for guitar hero in order to play with a microphone. Other than that I enjoyed this game more than guitar hero because of the different genre of music. Guitar Hero and Band Hero is basically the same game, but band hero up to date pop songs. so it depends on what kind of music you like.

    Love this game!!!

    I love this game. It has like 65 songs from different artists. I decided to buy this game because it has Taylor Swift songs on it including Love Story, Picture to Burn, and You Belong with Me. The game allows you to play just like a rock band. You have two guitars, drums, and a microphone that is all very well displayed in this game. I would recommend this game to all future buyers.
