About this product

Product Information

"Guitar Hero" was a mold-breaking video game when it hit the scene because it allowed gamers to become virtual rock stars. The boom of success from this musical video game inspired Activision to make spin-offs and sequels, and "Guitar Hero 5" gives gamers more rocking fun than ever. With a release date of September 2009, this fifth edition of Guitar Hero provided more features and songs than ever, for endless hours of gameplay. From the included tracks to many additional downloadable songs, you are able to play songs from some of your favorite artists and feel like a true rock star."Guitar Hero 5" for the Microsoft Xbox empowers you to customize your Guitar Hero band. Lead your solo career or be a lead singer for a full band, complete with lead guitar, bass guitar, and drums. These video games are compatible with standard Xbox controllers, or you may use an additional controller designed for Guitar Hero. These include wired and wireless guitars, drum sets, and microphones. If you have an external controller from a previous edition of these games, they are fully compatible with "Guitar Hero 5." Customize your "musical" drum, microphone, and guitar controller accessories with additional skins and decals for a true rocker look. The game itself is also fully customizable. When you design your characters, you not only choose their musical roles but also create your guitar hero's appearance and style. Make your character look like yourself, a famous musician, or someone purely from your creative imagination. Several musicians' looks have been modeled for playable game characters in this edition of these rock-and-roll music games like Kurt Cobain, Carlos Santana, or Shirley Manson.Similar to the previous game in the series, "Guitar Hero World Tour," your band experience is powered by a range of music and popular artists. There are 85 songs by over 80 performers built into the track list of this video game. There are new tracks from artists like Iron Maiden, Bob Dylan, Jimmy Eat World, The White Stripes, Gorillaz, and Beck. Download additional content as well as the downloadable World Tour music for even more rocking options. This game offers single-player and multiplayer modes. Play in a rock band of up to four players, locally on your own system or remotely over the network. You may all choose to play the same instrument in a group song. You might also enjoy the game's Party Play option, which is a jam session you join and leave whenever you want. To face off against other performers, try the Rockfest mode and wage online song battles with up to eight players. There is plenty to do as you work your way through the five difficulty levels: beginner, easy, medium, hard, and expert. Enjoy playing as a solo artist or with friends and family as you tour and become the rocker you've always dreamed of.

Due to a delivery issue on my end the package was sent back to the seller, but once I got on contact with the seller he was very understanding of the situation and was able to get everything sorted out. Definitely coming here first for all my retro needs.

    Really good game

This is one of the better GH games that were made. This was about the time that GH started to die, but that doesn't mean that THIS isn't a good game. This had one of the more extensive track lists from the whole series, and is a must play if you're still into music games.

    Bad Guitar, Fine Game

This guitar broke in the first day. Strum bar just stopped registering. I had my suspicions when the start button was spelled "seart", guess I should have known! Cheap garbage.

  • Very nice and surprising game :-)

Well thankfully I had enough money to buy Guitar Hero 5. This was the nail in the coffin to me, I hated world tour and smash hits. (metallica was good though) Easy to see and say. I'm a rock band fan, and a beatle fan, I'm more so excited for this, but since Neversoft took over GH it seems like the series has gone downhill a lot and I much perfer Harmonix and rock band. But for me, if they didn't do good on GH5 then this was it. So as my teaser says, it's really a pleasent surprise. I fired the game up and went to party play, which is a nice change, it eliminateds everything that might put a damper on the game (the star system, score, and etc) it's really just about having fun. The setlist is the worst part in my opinion. Yes they have a lot of tracks and the import system with DLC and ...

  • Great guitar..bigger than older Les Paul, it's awesome.

My nephew picked up Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock recently for the 360. I played it a bit and, i gotta tell you, i'm totally addicted to this game unlike many i've ever encountered. It's fun to begin with, but, if you love music, it'll take you to a whole other level. We now practically own every single GH game. I have World Tour on my pc, which all guitars work with, the usb plugs right in and windows 7 detects it no problem. I also purchased a wireless receiver for the pc so i can rock out w/ my nephew in head to head. I don't know how many more titles will come of GH since their next project seems to be more band/party oriented than individual guitarist. But, whatever they release next, depending on playlist, i am likely to buy it. The playlist in this title, GH5, it's decent. WT ...

  • Guitar Hero is back! (Somewhat)

For those who disliked the previous Guitar Hero title, Guitar Hero World Tour, breath a sigh of relief, because the franchise you've come to love is back with their 5th installment, aptly named Guitar Hero 5. While the setlist of songs isn't as great as the Guitar Hero 3 days, this is step in the right direction away from the highly pop-ish rock of World Tour. The graphics are much improved over the glitchy World Tour system, and the sometimes-annoying patterns on the note path have been removed, and a slick black path makes note reading much easier. While there is no real challenge on guitar compared to 3 and WT, Guitar Hero 5 is enjoyable on ALL instruments, and is a must have for all music game lovers.
