    Excellent! One of Machine Head's best!

    This is an EXCELLENT CD! It reminds me a lot of Machine Head's older days with "Burn My Eyes" and "The More Things Change...," except with a slightly more modern polishing on it, and with just enough of a touch of Flynn's more modern soaring vocals and vocal harmonies in parts. As a lifelong Machine Head fan, I was VERY happy to hear this album. The album both starts and ends with, in my opinion, two of the band's best songs they've ever put out! If you like ANY of Machine Head's albums, you'll LOVE "Through The Ashes Of Empires"!

    The mighty Head's best record

    Machine Head set the bar almost impossibly high with its staggering debut, "Burn My Eyes," one of the comparitively few metal records that holds up and gets better with each listen. "Ashes" may be better, and for all the talk of a comeback, this CD simply rips. Great dynamics, constantly goes from whisper quiet to a full roar, simply fantastic. Punishing guitars, thoughtful lyrics, amazing drummer in Dave McClain. I can't wait for what the band comes up with next.
