Don't use your phone when you can get this so cheap.
I used to use my phone to go from place to place but I was tired of using my phone for that and the apps. cost too much so I had to rely on google or some other site. Now don't get me wrong, your phone is just fine but what if you want to stream music? Or look up something else ( if you are a passenger). Well no more when you have this GPS. I got this on eBay for less than $35 and it comes with LIFETIME map updates. What a deal! This is only the second GPS I have ever owned, I owned one way back when they were only a couple years old. Well needless to say the technology has changed a lot and this one is far more advanced than the that older than dirt one I had. So if you want to use your phone as a phone or music player and you don't want to waste money on ink and paper to print a map up ... Good value but not as functional as Garmin.
Display is small and cluttered with things that don't use often...volume setting, for example. At the highest setting, the volume is barely hearable and I have a very quiet vehicle...NOT FOR THE HEARING IMPARED!!! Unit sometimes directs me to addresses or businesses that never existed. I do like the fact that it lists businesses by closest-to-far and has a lot more listings than my (much older) Garmin. The switch to traffic picture at critical intersections is only around 50% accurate...not sure if this is due to error or intersection construction update. Unit turns off when no motion is detected...hard to operate switch to turn back on and unit takes some time to re-orient. Great value for this product. I am new to my area and this GPS was great in helping me find what I needed in town. It is easy to use and the display is easy to read. I drive with a lead foot so when I hit 5 mph over the speed limit, the GPS tells me that I'm going too fast! This not only saves me from speeding tickets, but also improved my gas mileage. Lastly, when I drive without my wife, I still have a lady to tell me what I am doing wrong and were I should be going (even when I know where I am going)! My old GPS was good for all the time that I used it, but this one is much superior in size of screen, useability and options.
