Not suitable for Irish use without transformer
I forgot, buying a us product, requires a step down transformer, I am waiting for delivery of same. I purchased this product to transfer my old videos onto dvd's, I'm not sure I can do this yet.

Review of Emerson EWD2004 DVD Player / VCR Combo
This is a very good, reliable dvd player/vcr combo that can go in anyone's room, their child's room, guest room, office, etc. We felt it was more cost effective to have a separate monitor and a combo unit, as opposed to buying a monitor with the vcr/dvd combo all-in-one, plus it's easier to replace one or the other as needed over time. I am a doctor and use it in my waiting area with a 13" monitor that I have. I use it for holistic seminars that we do in our office. The bulk of its use is during office hours when we play education dvd's with endless loops. We also encourage parents to bring their vcr tapes or dvds for their children to watch and it's worked out beautifully. I didn't want anything fancy in the waiting area, just something with very ... This unit is slightly on the lite side. When we put Tapes or DVDs into it, it always slides back into the compartment. We will need to put some non slip tape down or something. The unit is easy to use and easy to learn. I specifically bought it for the dual purpose but also for the MP3 playback. Unfortunately, even though it says it plays MP3s, I have not been able to get it to work with my cd-r's. I have tried folders with files and just cd's that have no folders and only files. I have used my old Emerson player for years . It began to not play my valuable VCRs correctly, and i was afraid they might be damaged if I continued to play them in this old Emerson . some have told me that it only needed to be cleaned , and I didn't know how to do that, so I ordered this Emerson player. It works perfectly and I feel safe that my VCRS will not be damaged in any way !
