Great mp3 player
I have several of these, because they are my favorite. Unfortunately, sandisk quit making them. So, I get them when ever I can find it under $50. I like the expandable micro disc slot. Plus, it's small and has a clip. So, I can carry it anywhere without worrying about losing it. It also has good sound quality and is easy to use. Good luck finding it cheap, though!

In a sense, the Sansa Fuze is a strange thing; but it captivates the eye and does it's job exceptionally well. From the people who bring us USB drives and Micro SD's comes this MP3, player. I managed to snag it for $32.00, including shipping and handling. Battery Life: It's enough; you ca go about 2 days without charging. There are better battery lives out there in smaller MP3's, but they sacrifice some much-needed things. Features: With it's main firmware, you already have plenty to choose from. The FM radio is actually better than my car's radio, picking up signal efficiently. I enjoyed the touch of being able to record radio music; not many companies spring for that. In terms of Music play, we see the basics; Playlist creation, quick playlists, sorting by artists, genres, ... I highly recommend you Rockbox it, if you're more of an audiophile; the features gained are invaluable. Crossfading, Dithering and Compressing, Oscillometers and so much more. Also, for the casual users, Rockbix will allow you to skin it whatever way you want. Design: It's design worries me a bit. The scroll wheel is much too sensitive, and it feels plasticy. The backing is easy to clean and all, and with proper care it can work. However, it's good enough to withstand falls. Value: If you're looking for a cheap MP3 with no add-ons, look elsewhere. Maybe the imitation iPods on Ebay might serve you better at a lower price, though I can't say what quality you will get. However, for the features and control I had over it, it is a great deal.

A Good bang for your Buck
I've got this player for Christmas and I've got to say it's almost perfect. I Rockboxed it and it works perfect Outstanding audio quality (much better than the Ipod Touch)video nice screen and quick menu.Only down side was battery life wich is a bit shorter than the said-so 25 hr audio playback(maybe beacuse I have a Refurbished Model dunno I only get around 16-18hrs)the other tiny problem was the headphones build quality,they sound amazing but,they have thin wires wich are bound to brake(mine failed after a month) overall it's a Solid build Player,the metal back case gives it a very good protection from scratces and shocks and acts as a radio antenna, giving it excellent FM reception. Menu System: The Sansa Fuze has a great looking menu system that has excellent resolution and doesn’t suffer from lag when used. The main menu is icon-driven which you can conveniently cycle through using the rotating wheel. There are animated icons for music, video, photos, FM radio, voice, and settings. While playing a music track the screen displays battery level, album art, artist, playlist number, and track title. There is also a progress bar, track elapsed/remaining, and the time in either 12 or 24 hour format. Pressing the select button (located in the center of the control pad) cycles through different displays such as, a larger image of the album art and what the next song is after the current one finishes. You can also view a real-time 16-band audio spectrum analyzer which sadly is only displayed for 10 seconds. This is really only a gimmick but it looks great. The menu system on the Sansa Fuze is easy and fun to use and won’t take you long to learn.

I purchased this to update from my older model Sansa Sandisk. This is improved in a couple of ways, but could go a little farther. The older model fast forwarded and rewinded in 15 second bursts with a flash of play time in between. If you held it just right. If not it would zoom to the end or beginning of the chapter and you would have to start again. The new model has a continuous FF or R and a counter to keep track. Where they could have gone farther would be if you could rewind to the previous section without having to start at the beginning and go forward. Not nearly as frustrating as the older model but would be nice if you could roll back for the last minute without having to FF through the entire previous chapter. I listen to books while I am falling asleep and always end up falling asleep before I turn it off. The battery life is great. Even letting it run for a long time, only requires charging weekly instead of daily. The battery charger/ sync slot is very close to the head phone jack. You have to do a little wiggling if you want to charge and listen at the same time. With my older Sandisk I used to accidentally hit the record button often when I would pick it up, the button was on the side. I haven't done it yet with the fuze. If you are like me and want to rewind often, this can be a little frustrating that you can't back into the previous chapter, but for the price it is a great player. it is easy to navigate, easy to set up, download to and play. It is very small and easily fits in a pocket. Great battery life and decent sound, especially for audio books.
