Great movie about Queen Victoria and her India Servant. Lots of historical facts and a very well done period movie. Scenery was very authentic. Victoria was very lonely towards the end of her life but used her friendship with Abdul to learn about the language and customs of India. Good acting too.

I'm not a movie critic, so all I can say is that the movie, though not entertaining, does engage the viewer for its historical value. It gives us a glimpse, however accurate, of life in the late 19th/early 20th centuries, and how some people were viewed as second class citizens for merely their skin color.

They've managed to ruin Queen Victoria in one film by inserting political correctness (a cancer on society). Instead of making a true historical epic like Queen Victoria deserves, they've managed to mangle history by rewriting history. Some of us crave historical accuracy, warts and all.

I enjoy all of these types of movies. When I am sick, I get the pleasure of watching it again and again.

I love movies about how things were and stories of things I wasn't aware of...like the servants at the palace. Entertaining and delightfully acted.
