New, unused. Also smells clean, that is important for something that is so expensive. If you in the future need to clean these old D.D.R. flags, be careful and wash them by hand with gentle soap. It has a tag on the side to make me believe it is a genuine D.D.R. flag, but I am no expert. I lived near the D.D.R. in the 1980's (across from Vacha) in Bundestadt Hessen. I managed to visit the border every day, and not step on any land mines in the D.M.Z./no man's land. Shipping takes over a week.
