    Easy to use. Great for those who have put off backing up their data.

    I was many years overdue for a backup system. I was reluctant to purchase one due to horror stories of how complex it is to do, how time consuming backing up my data would be, and how I would never figure out if it was actually working. The Backup Plus took away my concerns. Take it out of the box, plug it into your computer, and if you want Seagate to take care of backing up your data to the Backup Plus, simply install the Dashboard Agent (Note: the Dashboard agent will need to be updated. When you register your product on the Seagate website, the update will show. When I registered my product, I found out the Manufacturer's Warranty is only good for 7 months, not two years as the box states). The Dashboard interface is simple and easy to use.     One of the best mini-drives I ever used.

    Excellent product, easy to use, quick "plug and play" feature, and especially beneficial to require only one USB plug instead of two like many mini's have to have in order to run full speed.

    Extremely happy. Works quickly and flawlessly. Don't hesitate to buy.

    I bought this product to backup my laptop computer just in case it fails. The setup of the hard drive was extremely easy and it was very easy to change the settings for determining when the hard drive would backup the files on the computer. I chose once a day around a time that I would usually be on the computer. You can also manually select to backup all of the files from your computer. The size of the external hard drive is pretty small, I'd say around 2x3.5 inches. It is very portable, I just throw it in my back and I'm on my way. It feels very sturdy. I have no complaints for this external.

    Seagate Backup Plus External Hard Drive Review

    This is an excellent product and provides good insurance against data loss. It installed easily but the instructions could be improved on. The drive comes with a rather short cable and the instruction is basically a sheet. I needed to access the Seagate Web site in order to download the full instruction manual. The disc comes with a mp4 video which wom't open unless you have the operating system to support this format. seagate should have used a common format such as Adobe.

    Good solid drive-great value for the price

    I bought this after reading a ton of reviews lauding it's performance-and so far have been very impressed by the transfer speed. It replaced an iomega which needed a seperate power source to operate-this runs off of the usb. The only drawback initially was the included backup software, which seemed to use a lot of ram, and which I ended up getting rid of. I would buy this again, and would recommend it.
