I bought this boxed set the night my son was born. It was the very first cds I had ever purchased. I gave that set to my son, this is an incredible career retrospective of the best Of John Lennon's solo career,and was one of the first of the boxed sets ever marketed. Wonderful packaging,artful graphic design, includes a beautiful booklet with family photos never before published. Complete lyrics, photos of the singles artwork, as well as the album covers of'Live Peace in Toronto'(1969),'John Lennon and the Plastic Ono Band'(1970),'Imagine'(1971), 'Some Time in New York City'(1972), 'Mind Games'(1973), 'Walls and Bridges'(1974){Album cover is a painting John did at 11}, 'Double Fantasy'(1980), and 'Milk and Honey'(1984), which consisted of the previously unreleased remainder of the'Double ... The last two cuts of the set are "Nobody Told Me", Lennon obviously having a blast with wonderfully funny lyrics, and the tragically prophetic "Borrowed Time", seemingly showing a man who was finally happy to be in his own skin. Many photos of Sean, his youngest son, whom he took a five year break from recording to be with, including the back cover of disc four,showing John and Sean watching swimmers at a beach; John wearing jeans, flip-flops, and a straw hat and Sean standing next to him, clasping his hands behind his back. The final picture(the back cover of the booklet), is a soft focus photo of John, Yoko, and Sean, a picture that could be from anyone's family photo album, just three people enjoying life together. Today would have been John's 68th birthday. What an absolute shame he isn't still with us.Sean was born on his father's bithday and is 33 today. Mark Grear

Why I bought the Lennon Box CD Set
Since I'm a Lennon memorabilia collector, this was another set of his that I needed. I always enjoy the booklets that come with so many of these items and once again, I was not disappointed! It contains all of the standard Lennon songs that we as fans simply love and can't get enough of! It also includes many works from his last two albums, Double Fantasy and Milk and Honey. This is usually the set my husband and I like to take with us on long car trips because it's very enjoyable and it's a smaller box set, unlike The Lennon Anthology which comes in a big blue box and can't be easily stored. That one is more for show, at least it is at my house because I want to keep it in mint condition as much as possible. Also the seller of this item was very friendly and was a big Lennon fan like ... Since I'm a Lennon memorabilia collector, this was another set of his that I needed. I always enjoy the booklets that come with so many of these items and once again, I was not disappointed! A fabulous 4 Cd set featuring all the solo John Lennon hits as well as a select few live cuts and rarities. I enjoy this collection so much that after selling it a few years back, I decided I simply had to have it again so I re-bought the item here on eBay. It's a MUST HAVE collection for both Lennon and Beatles fans in my opinion and I know that my Cd collection will ALWAYS have this set on its shelf. Highly, highly recommend this set, which is by the way now OUT OF PRINT!A fabulous 4 Cd set featuring all the solo John Lennon hits as well as a select few live cuts and rarities.
