Like a suped-up MP3 player, but not great as a smart phone or for sports.
I read about this phone quite a bit before I finally bought it. I was annoyed at always carrying around my huge (but awesome!) Dell Streak 5, since it barely fits in a pocket, and is way too clunky to carry when doing anything remotely active -- and I was getting tired of the comments about my "Zack Morris"/1980s size cellular... I was looking for something to carry with me when I run, work out, camp, etc. This phone looked to be like a little MP3 player with the added bonus of also being a smart phone. But at $250USD, it was a little steep for me. But when I got it new for $150 in an auction, the price was right. When I unpacked it, I was impressed with how small it is. Then I turned it on, and it's been down hill from there... Where to begin? While the size is great for ease of carying, ... I read about this phone quite a bit before I finally bought it. Then I turned it on, and it's been down hill from there... Where to begin? While the size is great for ease of carying, it can also be a nuisance. If you have large, clumsy fingers like I do, the very small screen can be difficult, often hitting virtual buttons near to where you're aiming. That said, it's large enoungh to read most webpages comfortably. Regarding the onboard software, I was disappointed that several key apps were not already onboard. One good example is Swype, which makes texting much easier on any phone, but on this tiny-screened phone, texting without Swype is nearly impossible (see the paragraph above about accidentally hitting adjacent keys). Some of the other sports/outdoors-type apps that I was looking forward to trying out (to track distance, speed, etc.) were not as great as I'd hoped either. These do not seem to work well if you are not constantly in range of a cell signal (for some reason I thought gps would be good enough). This is a bit of a barrier for use on runs, rides, etc. off the beaten path, which is what I thought it was designed for... Regarding its water proof-ness -- I got it a little wet while kayaking, and while it didn't get damaged, the touch screen was extra difficult to opperate. So okay for bringing with you on the water (to listen to music, etc.), as long as you don't want to use any controls to skip songs, take a pic, etc. Brings us to the camera -- surprisingly very fast capture and great pics, particularly outdoors. Much better than expected on that front. Music -- the app is good enough, but the phones that come with it are crap for sports. They're buds with wires that are different lengths going to each ear (so that the mouth piece stays close to your mouth/voice), which sounds like a great idea for talking. But when running, every little josstle (step) bounces it right out of your ear. To top it off, Sony seems to have some proprietary BS onboard that is preventing me from using other phones ("the device is not recognized"). Boo! Also, the one I bought didn't come with an armband, and it's been impossible for me to find one made for a phone this size -- even at the Sony store. Several on ebay say that they're for this phone, but the pic on the ad always seems to show an iphone. Toughness? Mine had one small fall (about a foot) onto a soft linolium floor, and the power button seems to now be sunken in. It's still functional, but much more difficult to access that button. And the vendor that I purchased it from didn't include a manufacturer's warranty (maybe that's why I saved $100). Verdict? Don't buy this for $250 thinking it's an awesome, sports smart phone. Think of it as a MP3 player with some extra features, but that isn't the best for sports, and pay for that.

Great phone buy it!
Pros: Small, for all those who are looking to change their cellphone but don't want to have a plate instead of a cellphone this one has the perfect size. Water resistant is a must! Cons: low battery life, I wish it could last longer than a day. Summary: Great phone, buy it!

There's a lot of android phones now out there with waterproof, dust resistant and scratch resistant screen. Why did I choose this then? Simply because - it's the only tough phone at the moment that has built in ANT+ capability, so that means you can pair with exercise accessories easily from the get go (Heart Rate Monitors, Foot Pod, Cadence/Speed Sensors etc.). The other plus point is that the phone is not that big, so it slips easily into pockets, etc. - PERFECT for outdoor activities.hhhj I dislike the flimsiness of the port covers though, and the protrusion for the hand strap.There's a lot of android phones now out there with waterproof, dust resistant and scratch resistant screen. Good Phone
I bought this phone to replace my old Motorolla that was way past its time. I received my package on time; properly sealed; with accessories. So far my phone is working great. Battery life is 10x better than my old phone. I have no complaints. Even though its waterproof- i haven't nor have i any intention to throw my phone in the deep end. So far it's a great phone and i like it!
