Makes my work SO much easier
I had been limited to making rings that fit me, or that fit some random piece of whatever I could find when making rings, which went well enough for awhile, but I don't have big hands, so this tool opened up worlds of possibility for me. Now I can make rings of many different sizes, and can even use heavier materials that I need both hands to work. Thanks to buying a nylon headed hammer at the same time, I can even make rings of rather heavy material, and have them come out round!! I'm glad I chose to get one without the channel for a stone set in it because, although it might make repairs on certain rings with stones set in them, it would likely make it more difficult to create a ring with a stone with the proper internal sizing. Hello, don't make the same mistake I did, and most people do, and buy one that is less money, they are junk when it comes to actually creating a ring using the mandrel.. Most people buy the aluminum one, it has 2 flat sides on it that make it very hard to make a perfect piece.. I make body jewelery, and copper rings and things like that. This mandrel is superior in every way compared to others.. It has a polished surface, so you can hammer right on the tool. It has a great feel working with it, you can tell it's quality as soon as you see it.. I have had it for a couple weeks, and have made over 20 rings already. And I can say for sure I will never have to buy another one(unless lost). The aluminum one lasted about 20 rings and it showed dents.. Just buy this one, you will be glad you did. ... Great tool for any jewelry maker!
This ring mandrel is clearly marked with each size, and the ends are tapped (threaded) for placing into a vise or mandrel stand. I would not recommend using anything but a rubber or rawhide mallet for wire shaping, ONLY BECAUSE this tool is not meant for heavy duty hammering/flattening wire.. that's why you should have a steel bench block. With its solid construction, I am sure I will get many years of use out of it!This ring mandrel is clearly marked with each size, and the ends are tapped (threaded) for placing into a vise or mandrel stand. Solid and Great Quality
This ring mandrel is exactly what I wanted and works perfectly for checking the size of a ring and of course, wire wrapping! Very solid and smooth with the only difference being the ring sizes on the surface of the tool which can be felt but are smooth enough not to affect the wire. Great tool!
