    Great quality charger, you can’t tell the difference between this one and the Original OEM except for the ApPle logo. The pic here looks quite different, it has more rounded corners than rectangular box shone

    Runs hot under load?

    Using this adapter on my late 2012 MacBook Pro (A1398). It works, but it's tricky to get it to start charging sometimes. You need to make sure it's plugged in before you hook the mag-safe connector to the laptop, otherwise the LED sometimes won't come on, and it won't charge. The original Mac power brick didn't care what order you connected in... it will always light up green and then orange to top off the battery, and then back to green for standby. Also this adapter gets *extremely* hot if the battery is below 50% and it has to charge for more than an hour. So far it hasn't caused any issues. The original Mac adapter gets warm, but not hot to the touch. Hopefully this one will hold up for a couple years anyway. My original was getting fairly old, so I bought this one for a backup. 😉

    Gets really really hot when charging...

    Charges, but gets dangerously hot when the laptop is in use and charging. It gets a bit too warm for comfort even when the laptop is not in use. I have to leave it charging in an air conditioned room and even so I will not leave this charging unsupervised. I am actually wondering whether I got the correct item at all.
