  • VCR/DVD PLAYER easy to use and hook-up

Bought product because of the price, found it easy to use and in excellent condition. The on-line description said that the player had a coax cable in and out connection but it does not. Was dis-appointed that the coax connection was missing because of being able to record while watching a program on a different channel. Still I'm satisfied with what I bought and would recommend this vendor for additional products.

  • The unit does very well on playback but I am having a problem recording.

The XBV713 DVD/VCR combination works fine. I currently have two Zenith XBV613 DVD/VCR players that I like better. I bought the unit because I feel that they will not be available at some time in the future. I like all three of these units because of their simplicity and they play either DVD'S oe Tapes. I would not hesitate the unit again would first look for the 613 model because it has a cable hookup and has it's own tuner. The 713 requires a RF Modulator to be installed. I like the Zenith products very much.

  • Not quite the DVD Player/VCR Combo that I wanted.

When I bought this DVD Player/VCR Combo, I wanted one just like the one that gave out on me. It could record any thing, anytime even with the TV off. I didn't realize that I was buying one that didn't have a tuner. It needs another source, but even with that, it will not do what my old one would do. The quality of the playing part of it is as good if not better than my old one, but I miss the recording features of my ex. I have a digital receiver now hooked up to it and I can record something that I'm watching, but how many times does a person want to do that? I didn't ask if I could return it because my next TV will probably be HD/Digital and I will most likely get a DVR. Also, if I would have read a little closer, it more than likely would have said that it lacked a tuner. Even then ...
