Great Movie with a Great Story Line...
The Longshots is a Great Feel Good movie. It is a good story for kids & the importance of sticking with something even against adversity. Even though you have been dealt a "bad hand" you can still make it happen if you determine in your mind to do it! One word of warning for parents who are mindful of language used in a movie...we were a little caught off guard by some of the language used in the movie. Our family doesn't use any "cuss words" so they surprised us a bit. If you have a TV Guardian or Cuss Buster...you'll be fine. Outside of that...a good movie & worth recommending! If you work with young people or a sports team or have influence with youth...this is a movie worth watching with them...and talking through things that can be learned from it!The Longshots is a Great Feel Good movie. nice family movie
We saw this movie on vacation as a freebie at our hotel. My daughter loved it and asked me to buy it for our collection. Basically, it is about a teenage girl who's father is out of the picture and her mother asks the uncle (dad's brother) to watch her after school so she can pick up extra hours at work. They find out that she has inherited her dad's and uncle's talent at football and she joins the all guy team. It is a true story and has translated to film well. You will recognize some of the actors and it is set in realistic, small town USA. I have watched it twice and would watch it again.We saw this movie on vacation as a freebie at our hotel. This is such a feel good movie. I loved every minute of it. Ice Cube is great in this movie. His passionate, funny, witty, and inspirational. You will fall in love with her. The story is triumphant. It shows how, if you think nothing, and you do nothing, then you will surely become nothing, but when, and if you decide otherwise, the entire community become successful.
