Weak AM signal processing adds quite a bit of EMI to the resultant audio output, (during the day) I'll have to wait and see if the noise coefficient improves at night over the amount of noise present during the day on such signals, most DSP radios have little issue with clear channel signals on AM, it's processing on weak signals where DSP works well or performs poorly depending on how much final signal filtering (in order to avoid feedback EMI) is installed within the circuit design.
