these are economical , well designed , USA made kayaks , which track straight because they have long keel shape , storage lid is securely connected / being a sit-in kayak , not suited for demanding white water streams or other rough water conditions

Cheap but does the trick
I am a very experienced paddler and wanted something inexpensive with a keel I could sit in that was 10 feet. This vessel works fine...it is easy to control, very stable, was cheap. It is also made very cheaply too though. If you are looking for something sturdy that you can bang around, this is not for you. In addition, the hatch area is not enclosed which I found odd. I contacted the manufacturer who explained that blown kayaks don't have enclosed hatches. I wanted the hatch for storing things so they would not fall out into the water if I flipped and when you put something loose in the hatch it ends up in front of your feet! The manufacturer said you need to use a dry bag in there so it cannot bypass the seat and then attach it...to what I'm not sure as there is nothing in there. ... The lifetime lancer kayak is pretty stable in the water although sometimes it wants to turn to one side or the other when coasting, it could that I don't know what I'm doing yet but i'm having fun with it anyway.

Do I finally had some fun on water with this craft. It does handle well. The back storage is easily accessible. Lot of fun I must say, except in raining weather. You see this brand is not made for a skirt. I took measurements to an outrigger store. But the flange around cockpit are not "folded" right to use a skirt. Sigh.. Non rainy days you can simply wear skirt over pants and pretty dry. But that's not the pt of a fitting skirt right?! It does handle water well I will admit.
