product works converting VGA to HDMI output. But only maximum resolution of 1024x768 -- not high resolution. I can get 1440x960 using raw VGA. Should work for slides or presentation, but not for general desktop pc replacement. I'm using Linux mint 21.2. Maybe it works better in Windows, but have not tried it. I wish the resolution modes were described for this product, but it is not specified.

Solution for Karaoke
My old standby of svideo output from older laptops for Karaoke is fading out. many newer venu video monitors do not have AV inputs anymore. So instead of using a converter from AV to HDMI, I can use the VGA from the computer to this VGA-HDMI device, then to a simple splitter.
