another great live album from dream theater
I enjoyed this set, but I thought LaBrie's vocals could have been better to be honest, didn't blow me away as much as he did on their SCORE album. At times, it seemed like certain solos didn't come across as well as they could have either. That said, it's still one great album. Train of Thought is arguably their best album, and 5 of 7 of those songs are on Budokan. Throw in some of the "6 degrees" and a couple new instrumental songs (a song called "Instrumedley" which is an awesome take on "Dance of Eternity"), it's a great list. My only beef with it was LaBrie's vocals, but they're not even that bad for most of the songs. One of the best live albums ever.....
It can be rare to listen to a live album that actually lives up to your expectations but Dream Theater's 'Live at Budokan' is one that truly does! Great live recording & excellent varied setlist makes this a must for Dream Theater fans. Too many awesome songs to name, just trust me!
